Trigg's comment has been woefully misquoted by the media everywhere. If you watch the interview, he states getting a first round draft pick which will equate to a pick around 26-30 in the next two drafts stinks. i.e., you have to wait until 2012 until you will get some real compensation from using it.

If we use it in 2012 you have to nominate it early which means you wont know what pick you are going to get until the season is finished. And whats makes it worse is if 8 players go to the GC and all those 8 clubs decide to use the pick in 2012, if you have a decent 2012 you are again only looking at a mid 20s pick.

I should have figured it was a misquoting, it just seemed too foolish a comment for a professional guy like Trigg to say.
