A hot scoop for BigFooty readers.

I can tell you now that the Roos have broken their lease on the Arden Street Ground by defaulting on their 2000 rent payments and the Melbourne City Council is now pondering if it should call in the recievers or not!

I hate the roos deeply, but i think the AFL wont be the same without them, they have done so much for footy, and have a number of top players .......When they come tin rattling at Footy Park, Im defently gonna chip in

And you know the footballs they use at training, well they havent paid for them either, seems that they are using those little blow up ones that you get at the grand final, and their jumpers they wear for the games well they are not paid for either seems that they borrow them from some other team in the suburbs that have the same jumpers, and they just use those stick on numbers.

No, they have not paid the rent on their Broadmeadows premises since 1996. This is the premises where hey wished to set up a gaming venue. With Bracks putting a freeze on the number of gaming machines, it has stuffed up Norf's plans, Melbourne's plans and a few other clubs who were in the middle of setting up new venues.

The prblem with the financial basket case Kangapoos is that they told the local council they would pay all the back rent when the venue was up and running and now with a lost financial stream, they cant find the readies.

It was actually in the papers a few weeks ago though I have known about it for about six weeks due to reliable sources in the local Council.

Thats another nail in the coffin for the poos and say hello to the Canberra Crocks.

Maybe they haven't paid the rent at Arden Street. On top of the other outstanding rent for the Broady complex.
If thats so, I would start paddling now Roos supporters, cause the boat just sprung a huge leak.

Just because the 9 million debt was wrong is no reason to throw out the baby with the bath water. The main thrust of my expose was the fact that the Roos are in SERIOUS financial difficulties, notwithstanding what is said. Many players werent being paid as I said in my original post and this has been no wpublicly verified. Carter tipped in money and he if and his cronies didnt, some players would still not be paid.
You cant have many seasons like the Poos did in 2000 (coming off a premiership year mind you) and expect to continue trading. The Corporations Law says something about directors allowing their companies to trade when they cant meet the payment of their debts as and when they fall due.

And Joey, networking gets you info you would otherwise not be privy to.

you wanna bet your house on it that this isn't true?

You better start looking for a new home if so.

It's 110% fact - I know it is. You'll be reading about it in The Aged in the next few days. One of their hack journos rang up the council today and got it confirmed.

Should I buy new curtains?

And how did this information come to you? Did Gwim pass on some fruits of his 'networking'? Or did the 'hack' ring you personally to advise? Do you work for the Age (would anyone actually hire YOU for anything?) Related to the telephone cleaner who was cleaning while the 'hack' was having his discussions with the Council?

Don't waste your time, or more importantly, don't waste ours!

Sawah

I dont know about the Arden St thing, but the gaming venue news is fact and is in fact public knowledge now having appeared in the Sunday papers a few weeks ago.(I think it was in Scot Palmer's column).

So please, keep up to date with current affairs so we can learn to take you seriously.

Thanks awfully much for the advice Gwimmy...

I read the daily papers so I'm aware of the gaming venue news. I was responding to DP's comment about 'the Arden St thing'. Not having the benefit of your 'networking', DP's contacts at financial institutions, your 'reliable sources at Councils', I must admit relying on facts to support my views. I appreciate that your're not that type of guy (1 mil V 9 mil???)...

And please, continue to not take ME seriously. I'd be distressed to learn that anything that referred to itself as "Gwim Weaper" and sprouted the negative, vulgur trash you do could relate to anything that I said.

Talk about scratching around for money! Norf tell Ainslie wear our jumper and logo and we'll help you and by the way can you spare $300K?

In the papers this morning

"Miller confirmed his club, which suffered a $1.1 million loss last year, had approached Ainslie for a loan, believed to be between $200,000 and $300,000."

I hope you were able to read that Sawah. No, go past the social gossip pages.

Gwimmy,

North are in financial trouble, yes, I agree. They owe money to the Broadie council, it's a fact - I can't and don't dispute this. They approached Ainslie FC for money. Once again, I can't and don't dispute this.

What I object to, is gossip/lies prefaced with "my best friends second cousins mothers dog overheard that...." Most especially when these are punctuated with obscenities.

I dont recall obscenities from me, though if I did I would think it was in response to what Iron Mike has said.

If I have used obsceneties I apologise, but really, I have actually reported the facts as I have heard them from reliable sources, not from my cousin's girlfriends brother. In the industry I work in, it is very hard to keep these sorts of things secret. As the rumours from Oct 1999 show.
