I agree with you that a Calder boy will take it out however it will be Richie Douglas. In the best 14 out of 16 games he has played or something like that. Great player. Should have been all aus!

Coaches Award well deserved by Richard Douglas.
 
It's not hard to pick a player like him to win it.. Having umpired in my younger days, umpires find players of his calibre hard to believe.. He stands at 167cm and weights in at 64kgs, finds the ball on a regular basis averaging 21 possessions & 2 goals a game this year which included 3 bags of 5. Umpires love the small blokes that have a crack and kick goals.

The negative part about this though is what umpires think is completely irrelevant to recruiters, IMO Fort will play another year at Calder no doubt. As much as everyone would love the kid to get drafted/rookie listed, 167cms would be the smallest listed player at any club. Although who knows what recruiters are thinking, i certainly dont.

A bit disappointing they have not even posted a result or a picture of the coaches award winner on the TAC Cup site, hopefully they get around to that tomorrow and also put the votes up. I am more interested in those than the Morrish. Will let ya know anyway.

Lenny Hayes won it around 1998 and Nathan D Brown won it around 1996. Rodan won it twice - not a champ, but a goer.
 
Good to see the Coaches Award votes in full, a shame FV seem to place more importance on the Morrish Medal cos this coaches award is by far the better award of the two.

Still not sure how Brendan Sutcliffe and Christian McErcial made it on there but I think we know who they are!

Richard Douglas really caught the umps eye as well :eek: NOT!

Congrats to Ryan Jackson for his 2nd 1/2 of the year since the U18 Champs. Voted the house down towards the end of 2005 and continued that form straight into the finals. His new found form is half the reason NK are on such a roll.
