Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

Have pre ordered game and cant wait. While i was playing the demo i noticed something. You are gonna be able to do 1vs1 in Test your Luck the new slot machine thing. This game is gonna be awesome. Favourite characters so far are probly Sektor and Ermac but if Kabal and Smoke come into the game and Goro is a playable character those favourites might change.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

Demo was pretty good. Still has the Mortal Kombat feel, which is fantastic.

However shallow the demo is regarding the moves (needs more fatalities!) there's still enough depth there to keep going for a little bit, and I only did the ladder with Scorpion, haven't tested out the other 3.

The vid at the end of the ladder is superb and gives away Kratos' first shot in-game MANNNNNNNNNN HE IS AWESOME! Apparently Kratos has the biggest weapon list too, great to see NeatherRealm really put effort into Kratos as he does suit the MK style VERY well. They could've easily just chucked him in with a few moves here and there, but it would seem he's just as deep as the other characters.

I think however I'm going to have to pass it up, first off I really don't want to risk a fine (and I feel like I'd be the one person to get it...). But on top of that I don't think I'm good enough at these types of games to really last. I am one of those 'Uppercut/Leg Sweep' type cheap players, which take this online I'd get smashed and up the difficulty a bit and I'd be smashed. I am just not one to really remember or use the complicated (and these aren't really complicated in any way) combo system.

I'll probably wait until it reaches about $40-$50 here and have it as just a time killer game. Thankfully there'll be plenty to tide me over in the mean time and hopefully by then the R18+ rating will be here so customs will be more lenient to this game coming over.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

*Cries*

I want this game so bad its not funny. We are so behind the times the sooner they fix the no R18+ game classification the better. I dont think i can wait until they get off there ass and give us Mortal Kombat fans what we want. Some people have said you can download it etc or copy it but I dont see how that would work either. Thinks right now i would give up alot of things for this game. Australian Bastards in charge of Classification

Just like me, used that tactic a lot in the old days of the original MK @ Time Zone :p, purely because i knew no other moves. Did learn how to do Sub-Zeros freeze, then uppercut.... other than that i was pretty much useless at it. Mainly because i was not very good at translating the arcade stick movements (also had trouble with Street Fighter 2 - rarely pulled off any moves, maybe the hurricane kick here and there), i learned how to play them via the console versions and as such i'm better at a controller than i am with an arcade stick. This still rings true today, i have an arcade stick for the 360, yet i still prefer to use the controller when i can (feel more in control of the fighting).

I also found the series to increase in difficulty as each sequel progressed, mastered the original and MK II (only just though), yet MK 3 i found very hard and couldn't complete the game as every character. Never played MK 4 that often (neither console or arcade versions) so i can't judge that.

The Deadly Alliance era (Deception, Armageddon as well) was cool, i knew the basics... yet i would get beaten EASILY by anyone who knew more combos.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

MK is one of the few fighting games that looks like it has heaps of single player content to keep you going.

Don't let the terrorists win! Get the game.

How can i get the game without getting Fined or in trouble though. Is there any possible way of getting it without a heavy fine or anything else.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

I believe it's direct from warehouse.

"All “in stock with Mighty Ape” items are dispatched on the same day you place your order, provided you order before our daily cut-off time which is usually 3PM. Delivery usually takes 3–6 business days.

“In stock with Supplier” and “Special Order” items are dispatched on the same day that we receive the items in our warehouse."

If you still have any worries, give them a ring between 6:30am and 3:30pm @ 1800 895 191

BTW Can't WAIT to give the demo a go, only 572MB, bargain!

Cheers HBK. I'll be putting an order in through them for the Tournament edition. :thumbsu::D:thumbsu:

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

Mighty Ape Whats the website for them. I am guessing i have to use the one say from NewZealand as on the Australian one there is no listing of the game. Then have them send it to the Australian store. Is that how it works?

You are unlikely to get caught.
If you get caught you are unlikely to be fined. They will probably only confiscate the item.

Have a look at the last page or few of this thread there are Australian shops getting it from overseas that you may be able to get it from. That means you aren't really importing it and probably won't get caught (as the shop itself imported the good).

It's just scaremongering. Of course customs are going to trot out the line that customs are on the look out for RC material and you could be fined. They aren't going to come out and say "you probably won't get caught and we don't care".

Funny that the guy who oversees customs, the minister for home affairs, is actively pro R18.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

You may have to be careful though, from what i have read it's only a matter of time before no major internet online retailer will ship MK to Australia :thumbsd:. I hope it is mis information, but not long after ozgameshop withdrew it from pre-order/sale status.... the original site 365games recently indicated that they would be doing the same.

I'm going to slap money down on the few remaining sites that have it listed and not withdrawn from sale to Australians and hope that the orders remain.

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

At this stage we are not shipping the game to Australia :(

However, we are aware that there are still talks going on and that the rules may be changed or relaxed, so please
stay tuned.

What I would suggest, is to place your "Pre-Order" for the game and if we are forced to not ship it we will cancel your order and notify
you or if we are then allowed to ship, you at least have the game holding for you.

That is what a lot of our customers are doing.

I hope that helps.

An email i got from Mighty Ape

You could always get an illegal copy if it comes down to it.

There's a way to get it involving a river in a Terry Gilliam film.

Just a reality check for anyone concerned about the so called $110,000 fine. This article puts it to bed.

http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/...it-screen-strange-customs/20110318-1bz93.html

Someone who imported 250 DVDs of objectionable pornography was only fined $19,000. You can only be fined if you import more than 25 copies of anything. Otherwise the worst they'll do is confiscate it. There is no evidence anywhere of any fines being given for importing one RC item.

But...where the hell can you order it from? Barely anyone is sending it out here now!

Can we order the full game from Playstation shop online? if so could just make our account from elsewhere in the world?

Nope, the full game won't make it onto the US PS Store for at least a few months (if at all).

Re: Mortal Kombat - Trailer (In-Game Footage)

I'm thinking of cancelling my pre-order of the kollector's edition as I'm pretty sure the place I ordered it is going to label it on the box (I asked a question about if I got a gift for my "wife" would the items be labelled on the box they basically gave me a shitty answer saying maybe).

Also after playing it a bit I'm not that sold on it. I'd rather get it cheaper later. I really wanted the book ends but some other similar special edition of a game will come along sooner or later that I'll have to get.

I do actually want some awesome bookends though.
