Daddy Long Legs are good in that they protect us from the other insects and spiders. At least now at my place im not seeing as many cockcroaches because at one stage they were everywhere. Do you get a lot of cockcroaches.

Not cockroaches but things like gnats, mossies, and spiders. Haven't had a huntsman or white-tailed spider in ages. Apparently Daddy Long Legs feed on them too

I used to have a problem with ants but they dont come as much anymore. Huntsman I believe also kills other spiders as well.

My house has a lot of Daddy Long Legs, but has a shit load of white-tails as well. I've killed heaps in the last few weeks. Seems the only thing the daddy long legs in my house do well is fall down the shower

It's most annoying when you're trying to sleep and the assholes decide to buzz around your ear and never leave, even though they have the whole room.

The worst for me is when you try and hunt them, they hang tantalisingly out of reach, mocking you, you get a great opportunity to kill it but it flies agonisingly away. You then don't see it for another hour (yet you hear it) and it's like dropping someone in cricket who goes on to make a ton- they always win in the end. It also seems like they're getting quicker as well!

Thought I was going crazy a few years ago. Sleeping under my bunk bed, lights off and all of a sudden I'd hear the buzzing of a mosquito. Ignore it, goes away then comes back after 5. Turn on the light to investigate but nothing. Happens all night. So I drag my pillow and blanket into the living room, plomp down on the couch and listen to the reassuring sound of the fridge turning on and off instead.

Same thing happens the next night. Morning comes, go into my room and I see a big arse mosquito hanging on the underside of the top bunk. Face lighting up in a devilish grin, I come back with Mortein in hand and empty the bottle on the ******.

I believe the following is why they are attracted to the ears, especially when sleeping:

Mosquitoes don't see very well, but they zoom in like a heat-seeking missile.

When they are 10 feet (3 meters) away they use extremely sensitive thermal receptors on the tip of their antennae to locate blood near the surface of the skin. The range of these receptors increases threefold when the humidity is high.

i have always wondered what kind of god would make mosquito's and all other useless things like that

but maybe the 2nd post is right they are satans creatures
