Most disappointing team 2025

Did most people have you bottom 4? Most people had Tigers, WC and north, and then the 4th team was a mishmash of different teams.

I looked back at the predictions thread and you were right. It was a prediction of "experts" that had us finishing 15th at best on the afl website that I was thinking of.

Carlton snuck into 8th last year, had to offload a bunch of solid enough veterans due to salary cap and injury issues, and are currently 10th.

Are there any teams above Carlton that are surprising? I think the current ladder a totally fair representation of where Carlton are at (IE Bulldogs and Freo are better, we have mostly beaten teams below and play Port in a few weeks to decide that spot, etc).

I don't think Carlton are particularly disappointing, nor are there any real surprise games outside of blowing up against Richmond in round 1 with a depleted team?

"Experts" had Carlton as flag favourites heading into round 1. They would have to be one of the most disappointing teams for a long time. The culture in that club must be toxic

The experts were deluded then, if they had an absolute dream run they were a top 5 side at best. They had a soft draw, so they should make top 8, but at present they are a disappointment.

StKilda should be bottom 4, they should be contending for finals at the very least.

Did you expect more from The Eagles and North. North have exceeded my expectations so far!

worth noting that with Carlton/Essendon/North, they only have a single top 4 H&A finish between them since 2001 (Roos in 2007 the sole QF, where they got annihilated). Hard to be truly disappointed when they have seldom been well positioned year-on-year to attack a flag in the past quarter century.
