I didn't really blame them that day to be honest. It was cold and pissed down all day for one, and our boys decided they were going to behave like smart arses and take a few cheapies at the opposition. The Milburn bump wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either, and it wasn't the worst thing one of our players did out there that afternoon. The Carlton supporters foaming at the mouth was just a culmination of a number of incidents.

Here's a video giving a few examples of our efforts in that game.....

They cut a few out too.

That was a great day.
Was the last year the scum were any good. Only cause they were cheating.
The next year was when we started turning it around on and off field.
Think it might of been the last game at PP too, in front of that new grandstand that nearly sent them broke LOL.
I don't like Carlton much.

No, the last time we played them there they were reigning wooden spooners, and smashed Us by 9 goals. Round 2 2004.

Stokes did dress up as half cat and was very happy for his team.

Blake on the other hand walked around like it was funeral.

I know which player I respect more

That's a fair call on Blake but to have him considered as the "most dis-liked ex Cat " ??
Unpopular maybe ( at the end) but who didn't whoop and smile when he kicked his first goal?
He's not in the same postcode as Murphy or Colbert IMHO - what it says to me is that the preseason has dragged on too long - bring on the real Stuff !

Greg Williams by a mile from Andrew Wills. Diesel due to the fact he was so good and I could see what we were missing and the fact he ended up at the club who didnt want him when he was starting.

Leigh Colbert is one of the best blokes I have met socially and guessing he had his reasons for leaving.
Is it true that Williams liked the club and only wanted something like $50 more a game and the club wouldn't give it to him.
That was a massive f**k up by is if true.
I think Wills was defrauding some company and the club had to pay a shitload to bail him out.

Murphy played 18 games in his one season at Geelong (so the majority of the season) and finished with an ave. of 21 possessions. He finished 3rd in the Carji Greeves that year, and had he played the full 22 may have even pinched it. Just saying. His response to the Princess Park fiasco wasn't great, but then Milburn's hit on Silvagni wasn't exactly a shining moment in our clubs history. #unpopularopinions

Agree with all you say, but this is a popularity competition, and although he was a highly skilled player, even at Geelong, he is detested by many.
Our team that year was detestable anyway- anyone at that Milburn- Silvagni- Murphy game, like we were sadly, would have thought we were as LOW as I've ever seen a Geelong team.

We pretty much were as low as we could go at that point. We kicked 3 goals for that entire game. Not the fondest of memories.

Felicity Kennett anyone?
Probably a nice enough person, but from being Geelong #1 member to being a Hawks supporter takes some beating.

With him as her "old Man" more like an oppressed person, they'll do anything for peace!

I think that if a poll was taken in Geelong then David Clarke Sr would probably be the most disliked ex-cat but not for Football related reasons.

Not sure Prismall fits that description. He was a reasonably early draft pick (not top 10, but you'd be expecting to get a long-term player at #32) and at the time when he went down with his ACL in the 2008 QF, he was looking every bit like a cornerstone of our future midfield, as an inside/outside tandem with Selwood. Ignoring his first and last games of that season, he was going at 24.1 disposals per game, he'd kicked eight goals in ten games and he would have walked into that Grand Final team, on exposed form. Ultimately he made a bad decision and I'm still not sure why he would feel that Essendon was a better choice at that point than Geelong would have been. He would have played in the 2008 Grand Final, had he not been injured and even if he'd stayed at Geelong with his injury, he would have been every chance of making that premiership side as well. Dumb decision, but oh well. It got us Motlop.
I'm not saying it was a rational decision, but my impression is he was mighty unhappy with the amount of time he spent in the VFL at Geelong and that would have put pressure on a few relationships at the club.

Is that right? I never knew.

I thought it was immutable to switch teams but some people don't understand the rules.

Except for when your club ceases to exist, e.g. Fitzroy, it is unfathomable to ever switch
