Yep - I'm bored. You're probably bored too.....

The boys aren't back until next week, so hopefully this entertains us for five minutes with footy speak.

Who do you consider Carlton's most important forward?

Casboult takes the best defender. He is also the only one on our list that could make defenders nervous when he is in the area.

If he doesn't play, the rest of them get better players to try and beat, not really in our best interests while they are developing.

Wont be our best forward, is our most important.

Despite his kicking limitations I still think it is still the big bastard Casboult. Need him clunking and splitting ****ing packs in half. The young kids like McKay, Silvagni and Curnow are the future and will hopefully further develop this season.

I think you may be right, but I couldn't bring myself to click on him.........

Almost tempted to say Matty Wright from a consistency POV, but had to vote Denny, because you know, its Denny.

Harry for mine.

Hopefully its gold and not a bust.

Yep im thinking long term. Not just this year.

This year is all about development. Pity theres no one really there to show him.

Depends what you consider important DVB. Consistency = Wright, attitude and application = Armfield. Both are valid.

Jones - he's the barometer. As our current best forward, if we are winning games and he isn't playing, the future of the forward line is looking good :)

Shandiggity!!

this is just depressing
Any chance you have been converted to the 'Casboult is important despite his limitations' line of thinking?

Not even close. Does more damage than good. Oppositions run off him, very poor defensively he has no engine, runs to wrong spots, can't ruck, not suited to modern game and when he misses easy goals it deflates a young side. Averages less than a goal a game in nearly 100 games. Never kicked more than 4 goals in any one game. I do not see what positives he brings to any side and I don't see why people think he is an option. How is he important? Structure? 18 goals in 20 games last year and we went to him more often than anyone else. What BS

The actual topic is irrelevant in my opinion. 2017 is about development and the game has changed. Anyone see how the Bulldogs & Hawks have won flags over the past few years? Mobile skilful forward lines with dominant midfields kicking the ball to advantage or in to space. Sides rarely play more than 3-4 players inside 50 and hardly ever more than one real tall. I can easily see us playing McKay in the square with Silvagni and maybe one of Charlie/Macreadie/Kerr/Jaksch as mobile options. Maybe even a Weitering or Marchbank at times. They will be supported by our mids and smaller running players. We have so many mobile running options that can kick goals. It can become a huge weapon for us. Players like Casboult or Jones are now liabilities unless they can bring more to the side.

Tell us what you really think Soapy.

Really shows you how bad we are up forward when people vote for Levi as our most important forward. He cannot kick for shit and never will. Yes he is big, but that's it. I really hope this is his last season with us.

I voted Silvagni as I think he will come on quicker than the others and will become our prime scorer.

This post reminds me of the day I was told Santa is not real....

That would be a 'no' then?

:) Sorry but i just can't see it. A few years ago I was hopeful but he hasn't improved. Has actually gone backwards. People get excited by the odd "highlight" but he has NEVER dominated a game or even played some consistent football. We have some really exciting talent that now needs the same opportunities he had

I'm projecting. I went for the big H. Much as I like Casboult, if he's the main target again this year, we are predictable and easy to defend again.

Development for Harry and building different avenues to goal, would be a major plus (or a great leap forward:)
