If Jacobs went down ROB would become no.1Thinking outside the box for a moment but could ROB be more important than our teams rotating 22nd player? Sure he hasn't played for us but if Jacobs goes down he would be more important than a CEY, etc?

Yep reckon smith and Jacobs are our 2 barometers . When smith plays well we are a different side to when he doesn'tInteresting debate.
If most important = hardest to replace then it's a tie between Talia and Walker.
In terms of our barometer - if he's playing well we're playing well, I would go for Smith.
Last year in particular our fortunes seemed tied to his. He started in with dominant games v North and Coll before the concussion. When he went off that day our fortunes seemed to turn around right at that moment.
He started to regain form later in the year and we had a great run into finals - then the ankle v Geel set him (and us) back again.
The final was excellent but, having now seen the Hawks game, he seemed to send us on our way again with that kick in.
Just feels like when he is on so are we.
What's the probability of Sauce being injured? Then calculate the expected value of ROB's importance.interesting point, but ROB's importance can only be so much before Sauce gets injured, he would instantly move into the top 10 if he did. He would play a much more important role than the 8th/9th mid, but I guess we also have Lowden and Hunter now.
Interesting debate.
