Which player has been our most improved player in 2025?
Ben Miller - 23 games in 2025 following 21 in 2024. Established himself as our number 1 KPD but statistically he was slightly down on 2024, with a higher % of 1v1 losses, but that happens with an increase in responsibility.
Sam Banks - has slowly built up over the last couple of seasons with 22 games this year following 15 in 2024. He has had an increase across the board statistically and became our number 1 option coming off HB with his run and carry proving to be quite dangerous at times. Wouldn't be a shock to see him in the top 5 in the B&F this year such has been his consistency across 2025.
Tylar Young - came back into the side in the 2nd half of the year after recovering from his ACL. In those 7 games he showed significant improvement in his game, so much so that his player rating climbed from 4.82 in 2024 to 10.54 this year, making him the 4th highest rated Tiger with more than 5 games. Alongside Miller some Tigers fans believe that they could be our long term KPD option, but Yze still seems keen on having Balta down back.
Tyler Sonsie - played 16 games in 2025 after 14 in 2024 and after a slow start he gradually found his place as a high half forward that becomes an extra midfielder once the ball is in play and seems to have adopted the KMac philosophy of playing a role, the difference being that Sonsie is able to get more possessions and is a bit more impactful with them. Still has his detractors but should be on the list in 2026.
Seth Campbell - was suggested during the North game that he is the most improved Tiger based on player ratings and he went on to be our leading goal kicker for the year with 28 for the season. Towards the end of the season he started to get some exposure in the midfield and showed he could be a point of difference with his explosiveness away from the stoppage and agility in and around traffic. In 2 seasons has played 43 of 46 games.
Tom Brown - followed up 18 games in 2024 by playing every game in 2025 as he established himself as a intercepting/rebounding defender who just goes about his job with a minimum of fuss and has become an integral part of our back line as we head into 2026.
