Ok with the others. I dont think Devon Smith has improved though. He does look to be enjoying playing in the midfield though. Players for big Melbourne clubs just get noticed more, and he was hampered by a recurring knee issue in his final two seasons with us. Hopefully that's behind him.

Anderson and Majak are deservedly getting a lot of plaudits at the moment in this department.

But the forward version of Shaun Atley has been very good since the middle of last year.

He broke the game apart yesterday and it's not the first time he's done it as a forward. Just a very awkward matchup and he's a lot more damaging forward of center than he ever was as a half back. Goal assist numbers are right up there in the comp as well.

It just feels like a perfect storm at North this year.

Guys like Anderson, Majak, Atley have improved, Thompson has discovered a time machine, Cunnington and Brown have elevated again, Ziebell is in his correct position etc.

You usually see it in a couple of players, but have about a dozen or so worthy of mention.

Already mentioned as one of the recruits of the year, but Jarman Impey has really improved his game coming across to the Hawks. Averaging 4 extra touches a game and seems to always have an impact somewhere in every game. Felt a bit more inconsistent at Port.

AFL Ratings has Daw up to the 4th best defender in 2018 behind Rance, Andrews and McGovern and in the top 100 overall players this year.

Only defender with more contested marks per game is McGovern.

Incredible turn around.

If you're injured and in and out of the team and not playing very well and then go to playing very good consistent footy in an expanded role you've still improved. He always had the talent to do this but he's still out there doing it now, that's improvement.

He was never in and out of our team though. He did miss some time with knee problems. Always best 22.
He played more forward as time went on in 2016 and into 2017, but was an outside mid, running half forward flanker for most of his time with us.

My player improved and nobody else is allowed to :drunk:

Yeah, weird and overly sensitive. Caddy has improved, but was coming from a decent base from last year anyway. Guys like Anderson have come from absolutely nowhere instead.

Love Zac Fisher as a player.

I remember hearing a story about the preseason - Carlton got players to make up their own best 22, he wasn't in many/any, asked every single player why he wasn't in their best 22 and got to work. Great contested player for a kid of 75kg. Real talent.

He also goes to Essendon games with Brett Stanton (development coach) and they watch and learn from Zach Merrett's modus operandi.
