What are the most nerve-racking experiences that we've had supporting the Bulldogs?

Here's my list (top five).

1. 2000 V Kangaroos
2. 2000 V Carlton
3. 2002 V Essendon
4. 1997 V Adelaide - PF.
5. 2001 V St. Kilda - First game

Note: I went to four of those games - I listened to the Blues game on the radio. Watching a game on T.V does not have the same level of nerve rackingness. You have the time clock there, which allows you to see how long left is remaining. Therefore, games I watched on T.V like the Essendon game in 2000 wasn't as nerve racking for me.

1.Rd 22 1976 vs Carlton at OPtus, we had to win or draw to make finals , we were in front all day by 2-4 goals but Carlton pegged us back in last qtr to draw ,
2. Beasley kicking for goal v Coll after Allen kicked across goal
3. V StKilda at Moorabbin , 1984 (?) came from about 40pts down late in 3rd Qtr , scores level and Racoon slots a goal on the siren for us to win by 6 pts, I was sitting in the middle of the St KIlda stand , what a day.
4. Seeing Templeton go down in a pre season night game in teeming rain at Waverley
5. Last game 1998 v North for top spot
6. 1985 in the rain v Hawthorn at WO to secure double chance , this game sticks in my memory, anyoone got a video of it ?
7. Vs Richmond 83 or 84 got 10 goals up at qtr time and lost the lead in last qtr , but got the win
8. vs Fitzroy 1980 after 14 losses , a win , couldnt wait for the siren
9. Vs Ess 2000 , say no more

and no 10

our last day in September 1997 .................I'm almost better

that was a classic

Quinlan went berserk and had 5-6 by half time. Templeton and Southby had a great battle with Kelvin getting 3 and honours even. I think we were up about 5 goals late in the 3rd but they came home with a wet sail in the last. In the dying minutes they were within 3 points hammering away and we were struggling to hold. They had 3 shots, all gettable, but all missed narrowly. One was a poster. Incredibly exciting stuff.

They were the makings of a great team. Templeton at FF, Quinlan at CHF, Dempsey in the ruck......what talent......sigh.......:( .....

Are you serious Xie. How can the Blues and Bombers games be more nerve racking then the 97 prelim???? The Blues and Bombers games decided whether we would make the lower part of the 8 from where we at best would win 1 final, in the end getting our bot bots kicked in 1. The 97 prelim was by far and away the most nerve racking experience of my life, I visited the Ponsford stand toilets 3 times during the last quartere and ended up watching the last few minutes in an aisle, and then I cried :( :( :(

Keep in mind I was only an infant. Well, not an infant, but I was only 11. I wasn't as nervous because I was only in primary school. 2000 games were nerve racking for me because we had come off three sensational seasons and I was anticipating something special - Not to be. 2003!

No question this is no. 1 for me- I was in the Ponsford stand mercilessly sat near Adelaide fans. At 3 qtr time me and my mate were planning how we sleep out for GF tickets and taking a day off from work for the parade - Oh god  :(

The rest in no particular order:

2. v. Essendon 2000 - even watching on the TV I was beside myself.

3. v. Carlton 2002 (r 6)- this is a funny one. You see I was in Edinburgh with friends so I had no way of receiving any live updates . I knew that if we lost this one we were probably destined for the bottom of the ladder for some time. I couldn't enjoy my time in Edinburgh till I found out the result. My mum texted me when we won - I was soooo relieved.

4. v. Essendon 1996 (R 22) when we came back from a few goals down and nearly clinched it. Grant starred. Wallis's last game. We lost.

5. Final in '94 against Geelong when Bill Bl**dy Brownless kicked that goal.

To be honest there are probably a lot more... I will think on it.

Sounds familiar, we were in the aisle next to the Crows cheersquad and had used a few choice words to them before the game on the assumption we would win, we copped it big time after the game. My older brother also offerered to leave at half time to start lining up :(

I'm pretty sure it was a carlton game...i think last year where we lost cos of some stupid umpire decision.

And Essendon 2002- I couldn't believe it was Lloyd that got the free after how much i had bagged him all year. If he had of got that I think I would have run onto the ground and tried to kill him.

of course- Essendon 2000.

Well I guess you were only a toddler back then but I assure you it was quite nerve racking.
I was on stage at a Vietnamese parade, actually! Not exactly a toddler. Were you allowed to have a TV in your room at the retirement home to watch it? :p ;)

I'm the most nervous person at the football ever and 97 i was never nervous - I was a pleather of all other things, but nervous was not one of them.
