With the topics on overrated players I am interested to see who people think are the most overrated coaches. For me after watching Melbourne yesterday and for most of the year, I would have to say Neale Daniher. He makes no inspiring moves. Also, you would would have thought they would have learnt after 1999. I know responsibility has to go to the players, but the coach also has to take some responsibility.

Leigh Matthews is the most overrated coach. Sure, he took Collingwood to a premiership, but what did he do with the side after that but contribute to their decline?

Now he's at Brisbane, he's got a side filled with gun-talent and it's only now that they're starting to look semi-decent? A good coach would've already won a flag at Brisbane, (which also explains why John Northey and Robert Walls failed).

Matthews is the worst of the recognized coaches; I don't think it's fair to comment on the newer guys like Daniher and Peter Slob until they've been in the business a little longer.

So Matthews for mine.

Mick Malthouse. He held the doggies back and almost destroyed them in the '80s and should have won more flags at West Coast. He has no idea how to coach forwards and is far to defensive in his outlook.

Now for the inevitable tirade...
