Most under rated player on EFC list?

I would have to say it is Welsh. This kid has been left out of that many "my best 22" lists on this board it's not funny. Came 5th in B&F, tries his guts out every game. Got a great footy brain. Get's tarred with the to slow brush like pace is the only skill required by an AFL footballer. Well David Clarke answered that question for us didn't he. Under rated player IMHO. Who's yours?

i have noticed that too, welsh seems to be improving every year and looks like he will become a very servicable 10 year player.

People from other teams don't seem to realise how good a player Hille is.

Watson, Stanton, Monfries, Lovett, NLM etc are all capable of becoming out and out AFL champions. Yet are dumped on on a regular basis by non-efc people at BF. Not going to have the supposed 10 years of misery Richmond and Carlton fans proficies with these kids coming through.

Id agree with you on McVeigh, however with Fletcher...noone I have ever spoken to has ignored him when speaking about the fabric that keeps Essendon together, especially in our leanest years.

I wouldnt take much notice of any dumping on us now, still remains to be seen...but our list has much to be desired right now on paper.
If we can finish around 8th/9th next season, its fair to say we'll continue to climb up the ladder at a rate of knots by 08/09. Right on target in my book!!

Recently, last year Fletch was good enough to be considered AA, yet most people think he's past it, never takes good forwards ect, ect, yet we all know he's much more important then that

Thats only been pointed out by the media. Prior...noone Ive ever spoken to about Essendon or Fletcher had brought that up, let alone read that from any journo till this season.

People are still running with it, most see him as a B grade FB these days, always quickly to choose Scarlett, Glass and Rutten first, he's still very much underrated, whether the media built it up or not

My point is, its only ever been mentioned this season past. I can remember even as a youngster, they were talking up Fletcher's feats by having him kick over the Yarra on live television. Hardly the characterisitcs of someone deemed underrated.
The media named him 'Gadget' or something to that effect for his ability to use his long limbs. Almost ALWAYS in the same breath, was mention of his importance and how crucial he is to our side.
There's also my favourite...we only win 33% of our games without Fletcher, as kindly pointed out by the media.
They're obviously pointing out the other side of that coin by describing what he has and what we'd miss without him.
Doesnt sound like he's deemed underrated to me.

Fair points, but I've seen too many people on here dismiss him as a top class Key Defender, 90% of non EFC supporters on here grab the doesn't take top forwards line and run with it, guess that's what I'm basing my opinion on

We must be speaking to different people then, because many non-Essendon supporters I speak to see him as one of the most over-rated players in the game.

Regardless, theyre severely lacking in their knowledge of our personnel. Id love to know who they rate ahead of him..I can only think of Scarlett as someone who would rival Fletcher in that position.

Pretty much ALL of our young players seem to be under rated by supporters from other clubs. They think we've been the worst recruiters in recent times and we'll spend 5 or more years on the bottom before we'll improve.

If Rama was playing next season after a long run of matches for the last few years,by now, I have no doubt that he would be one of the leagues best MFs.........if only Adam

i remember a game against brisbane in i think 2003 and rama was playing. that is the only game i can remeber him playing in and he was a very good player that day. a gun. the way he marked that day and run with the ball out of the back line. he played great and we actually won that game.
