Unique picks who were not too shabby in R1:

544th most popular (2,230 picks or 0.67%): Kade Simpson ($499k) 119 points, 29th best score of the round
552nd: McQualter ($415k) 77 as FWD
560th: Jude Bolton ($542k) 106
569th: Jarrad McVeigh ($523k) 128, 21st
577th: Garry Moss ($318k) 81
593rd: Steven Salopek ($448k) 104
596th: Daniel Jackson ($414k) 89
599th: Richard Tambling ($476k) 94
609th: Tom Murphy ($349k) 92 as DEF
611th: Andrew Embley ($452k) 110, 48th
642nd: Sharrod Wellingham ($365k) 101
643rd: James McDonald ($394k) 100
656th: Jarred Moore ($369k) 100 as FWD
665th: Brent Moloney ($497k) 90
692nd: Brent Reilly ($407k) 89
704th: Jordie McKenzie ($248k) 99718th: Heath Hocking ($418k) 93
724th: Jason Davenport ($404k) 86
739th, i.e. third least popular (607 picks or 0.18%): Matt Thomas ($327k) 100

Understandable that no-one has room for mid-priced midfielders this year (all unmarked above are MID although I may not have picked up duals). Wellingham is an interesting one, if he is no longer a tagger first.

Swans are unpopular in SC. I can understand why in DT, but not their quality players in SC. Garry Moss has been spectacularly ignored despite bursting onto the scene last year and his firesale price, no doubt because he burnt so many people. I reckon Mick Barlow is this year's Garry Moss.

Salopek and Thomas are even more amazing, they're unwanted this year after being fantasy darlings for the last few seasons. Hocking too? Only Danny Meyer and Nick Smith are less popular than Matt Thomas.

Lastly, whodafeck is Jordie McKenzie?

had 11 tackles

I have Shannon brynes at less then 0.82% get on him boys, scored a little over 130.

Duffield and Hurn also in very few teams. Both had a good 1st round.

Have not checked who is statistically my best player, but I have noticed that there isn't much love for Daniel Cross. Have him every year, will pretty much get you 100 every week and no one has him.

I feel even in actual football he is underated.

P.S Exuse my bias doggies attitude.

I find that very interesting about Duffield and Hurn, given that both had good pre-seasons, and are 1 of about 10 good options for back premiums. I didn't end up with either of them, but I had them in my team at various points before round 1.

Hurn I can understand but duffield really suprised me. An early lock in team creation. Ofcourse Hurn and H Shaw were both in and out of my line up over the last month.
Shaw I'm sure is in alot more teams as he in a Vic team which happens to be the pies, he has been a pretty solid player over the past few years and This is Hurns 1st year as a high priced player, alot of people are wait and see.

Considering last year was his first of quality and that he finished off last year poorly averaging 82 in the last 5 rounds, I think may have made people cautious. It also might be to do with how many Dockers they already had in their team with Pav, Sandi, Barlow, Morabito, Broughton, Silvagni all posiible picks

watching their kick out strategy last week, if the opposition kick 10+ behinds he's almost guaranteed 90 points

My 'unique' selections:

David Armitage (2.96%)

I'm not too worried about a low score against Sydney. Lots of good players struggle against Sydney. Lenny Hayes has historically struggled against Sydney. Armo scored 127 last time out against North. If he has another quiet one, then I'll get worried.

Greg Broughton (3.02%)

We all know he can score. People were obviously scared off by the price tag on a second year player. Playing half back and midfield he should get every opportunity to shine and his 112 in R1 was a good sign.

Jack Grimes (3.71%)

A similar story to Broughton - only Grimes has a history of injuries. Still, I like his game and he should get a lot of opportunities at Melbourne. Scored 85 first up which is okay.

Robbie Gray (4.62%)

Obviously the inury scared most people away. I figured he was out for a week at most and that Hitchcock/Gumbleton could cover for him. Oops. I named Gumbleton as the emergency. Double oops.

Mitch Duncan (5.42%)

It will be tough for Duncan to hold his place in such a good side. I like his game though and I like that he's an MPP. I've got 4 mid-fwds in the forward line, so I can switch him to forward if I need to cover for a mid. Or I could if I didn't have LeCras and Gray.

Anybody shooting for the top spot needn't worry about me. I've got a decent team though. Hopefully a few of my gambles pay off.

overall webberley 1.6% lol had to have the tasmanian. i think he was in the extended squad this week and with richmond being shit he cant be that far off

on the field mines suban as well, also pretty happy with that choice

My players are all pretty common. Chris Mayne at 4.48% and Robbie Gray at 4.61% are the lowest picked players. I didn't think Harry O'Brien would have much love, but he's at 9.7%. A lot of people probably picked him up in the last week.

What is the point of this thread? It doesn't really acomplish anything, the least picked players are always the really young kids and the spuds. No huge story, if you wanna see who are the most and least picked up players you can look it up on SC in the stats area. :thumbsu:

Casual conversation about an interesting stat? If you're not a fan of the thread, why not just not read it?

You actually want the stats of players without the auto fill teams,

The difference between winning and not winning Sc whether in be overall or league is not having too many common players and getting on the non common players early before everyman and his dog has them, you get the good early points and the price increases so you can up grade them later. ie jordie mckenzie, had heaps of takles in two weeks. Unless you support melbourne very few sc Coaches would have heard of him(Choosing the right captian, having few long term injuries and luck also helps winning;)
