All good, thought you said you wanted 3 draft picks lol

Also i think Lachlan McKinnion will go while Chartres and Dick will stay. 3 new rookie spots.

got this off the age - Brennan's future was less certain. The enigmatic 23-year-old is effectively estranged from the club and the Dons are keen to winkle him out of Brisbane for nothing through the pre-season draft.

4 Draft Picks
3 Rookie Draft Picks
1 Pre-Season Draft Pick

Just tag Brennan with alot of money and his ours.
How much do you think??

I dont want to offer him something like 500,000 a year, much to inconsistant for that.

I have a feeling they will though...

No chance Prismall will go into the PSD?

What ever price he puts on himself applies to any club that picks him up.

What can be done though is to frontload, high price , then lower price second third years.

I heard that we can set a price on Brennan then renegotiate that price, but the original price is counted under the salary cap.

For example, if we have $700,000 free in the cap (no idea how much we have) we say we'll pay him that muhc for a year. We then get him and actually give him $300,000 a year but the salary cap is officially full. This way Tiges, Carlton etc would pass as he could tell them he wont renegotiate his contract with them.

I just got this from the Judd saga, is it true?

It will have to be big money.

I cant see Richmond going after him. Carlton just got Judd if they try getting Brennan there salary cap would be ****ed.

Im not sure how much maybe 750,000 for 4-5 years. I know its alot but i think its worth it.

While not 100% sure, i think you can do that.

That doesn't help us a lot though as i would assume that the clubs below us, maybe even carlton, have plenty of room in their cap.

Maybe they have an ace up their sleeve, i really don't know.

There will be more players have disagreements as their contracts are discussed and opposition clubs get in their ear.

Then why wouldnt we just pay him the 700,000??

Yeah, I dunno, I see the Dogs as a bit of a danger.

Perhaps we delist Bradley and they will go for him instead??

If Lloyd or Lucas moves onto the external vets list, that will free up another spot.

We'll have at least 5 picks in the ND.

lloyd goes on to the veterans list replacing hird so that doesn't change the squad numbers really. we've already delisted 5 promoting 2 so have the minimum 3 draft choices. mark johnson will go and be picked up in psd by freo i'd say. that gives us 4 picks and if brennan is available then they have to chop someone unless bradley walks out.

I expect that Mark Johnson will be delisted some time in the next few days and that will round off our delistings. He's been a great servant of the EFC, but his time is up.

We're well placed with 6 departures and 2 rookie promotions. That leaves us primed to take 4 guys in the Draft, and leave a spot free for the PSD if we choose to use it.

It doesn't add up!

Hird, Bolton, Campo, Heff, Cole....MJ?

We'd still need to drop another to take the 5 picks you're suggesting!

Knights said the de-listings things will be done in a few days

Mark Johnson will be de-listed no doubt

Im not sure about Bradley and Peverill 1 will stay or both will go. Maybe even Jason Johnson will go? Who knows

I'll explain it to you.

There is 38 on a primary list, however, each club can have up to 2 veterans placed outside that list. In 2007, Essendon chose to only have one due to salary cap issues.

However, with Lucy's contract paid out and Hird's contract gone, we can now afford to have 40 on the list and we have Lucas and Fletcher who will both qualify for the veterans list next season.

Next year, we can replace 6 players on the list with 7.

Well looking at the picks we have, surely we'll only take 4 in the draft and 1 in the PSD.

So, IMO, if we were going to accept 40 for Keps, he'll be delisted along with MJ.....unless CJ is uncontracted, in which case his time is up!

Pretty Sure Courtney still has 1 year to run on his current contract.

Sam time as Lonergan.

Hird was on the internal vets list, not the external.
Hird was still on the primary list.

We can move Lloyd to the external vets list and free up a list spot at the expense of a rookie.

Pev will stay on a one year deal.
Mark Johnson will be delisted and Bradley will walk.

It'll be interesting to see if we actually do end up doing that.

The later rounds of this year's draft are pretty poor. Are we better placed gambling on a kid for two years when there's a large possibility of him not making it, or leaving a spot free so we can draft more heavily in a stronger draft?
