Recently graduated from my PhD in Psychology but am looking to move out of academia. Was thinking of moving into HR/Admin. Having a hard time finding work though. I was considering doing a diploma in HR management but was hoping to avoid the extra study. Any advice/feedback would be appreciated.

If you do complete further study make sure it has a placement option or you do volunteer work in the field you are looking for.

The last thing someone with a lengthy academic history but little work experience needs is more qualifications without experience.

Thanks mate. You are exactly right. I am sure I am finding it hard because my only work experience consists of RA/tutoring/lecturing work.
