Built in the best location? In your opinion? Did Barnett consult with you before he pissed all over the Langoulant report?

Let's be honest. The stadium was built in Burswood, on unsuitable terrain because it was closer to Crown Casino. Libs looking after their mates is nothing new.

That report didn't specify which location the stadium should be built at and merely pointed out that Burswood was the most expensive option. Given it's failure to properly assess the East Perth sites suitability (s**t location, too small) it's a relatively worthless document.

Still sceptical about our club being able too or committing to doing a killer light show for night games. Cue the oldies whinging about seizures and us doing nothing. Freo will go all out
Why focus on oldies about seizures. The highest rate of epilepsy in Australia is with young people.

What connections were there between Crown and Barnett?? Crown consistently gives to both political parties.

The terrain was perfectly suitable. A stadium in WA needs a huge amount of piling anyway as most locations are on sand, this just needed a bit more. It didn't take some crazy engineering and the stadium isn't going anywhere.

Being close to Crown was a great outcome for everyone, far better than being close to the Vic hotel. There will be huge pubs around that can also be used for other events at Crown. If they were really looking after Crown they would have given Crown control over the whole precinct, which wouldn't have been hard given they owned half the land the stadium is built on. It will be a much better attraction for people to come from the country or across the country to visit. The transportation links are far superior. There's more parking.

The only reason I could think of for it not being there is cost, however that is easily recovered through the sale of land around Subi, something Langoulant didn't consider.

Noticed this final line in this article....

Beset by a bureaucratic thicket of negotiations with the WA government which last week saw the AFL CEO threaten to return all Eagles and Dockers games to Subiaco next season, the new Perth Stadium deal is now close to resolved and on the verge of a major announcement in the coming days.

The Eagles will host the first AFL home-and-away game at the stadium, which has seen the league and the WA Football Commission negotiate to achieve a 50-year agreement packaged into five terms of 10 years each.
