Hi all. Thanks for the positive responses, glad you're all enjoying the ride.
As for how I make these – First I just need to get a solid idea in my head of how I want it to look. Then I just draw them straight into Illustrator, freehand with the mouse/pencil tool (tablets are for the weak). I then create a new layer underneath for the colouring. Its pretty simple really and takes about 1-2 hours depending on the character/detail.
I'm going to do Collingwood next, as they are the premiers after all. and I have some some good ideas for Saints,Lions,Dogs,Crows. Melbourne will be lots of fun.
The ones I'm struggling with are Carlton, Cats and the Swans. Making a swan or a 'Blue' look tough will be hard, so feel free to offer any suggestions.

Don't change a thing about your designs but if you want the AFL to use them just tone the blood stuff down and bingo. LOVE the Bombers one. How are you gonna make the Saints aggressive??????

You could go with the Captain Carlton theme but make him more of a "dark" hero like Batman, then add the extra darkness that seems to be a theme in all of your drawings.
