Because of how visual the show is, it probably masks some of its flaws, but there just isn't anything in there that I don't enjoy.

Elliot on Adderall was terrific - Classic George! - as was him pontificating, albeit pretentiously, on religion.

Michael Cristofer seriously creeps me out, giving me the same feeling I got when watching Rubicon all those years ago. Intrigued into how Angela plays this. Also quite like Dom. Seems to have that mix of being good at her job, but also socially awkward. A bit like Elliot in some sense.

The mental institution theory didn't lose any steam with this episode either, but I'm hopeful that's not what it is. Also probably a good time to stop searching for theories on it and just watch it as it comes. Tyrell though needs to enter the picture again, and asap.

That a serious question?

I've liked the new season so far, but I am hoping things start moving along a bit soon. I feel like we've got enough new stuff set up to go along with the leftover stuff from last season (WHERE'S TYRELL?); one more 'set up' episode may be pushing it a bit.

I like Craig Robinson's character. No idea who/what he actually is, but he fits in nicely.

Also, not sure if this was widely known, but FBI lady is Meryl Streep's daughter (lol at "pretty bomb at it").
I haven't watched it, so obviously.

Is season 2 going to be on foxtel?
To do a complete backflip on my previous reply to this post, despite the lack of fanfare it is indeed on Foxtel, and in decent time from it's US airing. It doesn't appear to be on any channel on the guide, but the first four episodes are up on the Catch Up menu. Seems to get listed on Thursday nights.

The first 15 minutes of episode 4 (Season 2) are almost the biggest f**king momentum killer i have ever seen in a good TV show, that was awful, nearly made me quit the show.

I actually fell asleep at the end of that Elliot and Darlene scene and I don't remember being that tired before I started watching. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who felt the same.

Darlene is such a ****ing shit character - hopefully she's next on the chopping block to put Mr. Robot into overdrive. Only reason I could think of for that bland intro that tried to flesh out her character, or lack thereof.

Nah mate, I think Darlene is one of the better, complex characters. Last season she was the only one that genuinely believed in the revolution and it's benefits and her motivation seemed like it stemmed from her complete conviction that it would improve society, or whatever. Given that one of the major themes of the show is the inherent futility in trying to change the system or upset the established order there's something tragic about a character that truly believes in it's transformative power.

She might be naive and she can certainly be annoying and brash but she's pretty much the only person in the entire show that is sincere. Although I suspect that it will eventually be this sincerity and conviction that leads to her downfall; this show doesn't treat people who possess those character traits well, ie Gideon, Shayla.

That scene - maybe in the first ep of this season? - where she broke down in the bathroom was powerful in my opinion and may be her saving grace. That acknowledgement that she had succeeded in, what seemed to her, this massive undertaking that would fundamentally change the distribution of wealth and power yet she was still dissatisfied and perhaps even more alone than ever.

I understand why people may complain about the slow pacing of this show but it doesn't matter to me at all. This show isn't about hacking or revolution or being anti-capitalism or religion whatever. Those events and ideas just provide a background for a set of wonderful, complex, intriguing characters and their development. The shows about power and control; finding a purpose and trying to find an identity. The story is in the characters imo and in that area this season has been fantastic so far and moving at a good pace.

Man I wish they had killed redhead FBI what a shit character. The part where she said she never had time for dreaming made her look like a very poor imitation of Rustin Cohle and the lollipop ,just f off.

Ray's site reveal was predictable even down to the Silk Road reference.

White Rose and Tyrells wife just about the only interesting things left in this show

Overall I have to say I think its just ok at the moment.

I thought this weeks episode was a lot better and that ending was really, really well shot.

I'm loving the intrigue around Joanna Tyrell but I think the show is starting to suffer from her husbands absence. IMO he was the best character in the show before he disappeared.

Well I'm not sure I'll be able to get through ep 6, start is terrible and it looks like it'll be like that theme for at least half the ep.

After hating it initially I digged it as it went on.

It's one for Alderson and..
Alderson for one?

Christian Slater killed those scenes. I really gotta see some of his early movies.

Ended up watching it given I have nothing else worth watching at the moment.

Like I understood what they were doing but it was so cheesy at the same time for a show that hasn't done that kind of crap before, so out of place, didn't dig it.

Not really enjoying this season as much as the first, might be able to flip it around with the final 6 eps but it's just not on the same level as it was in S1 imo.

I don't think anyone's going to confuse her for Cole. She's a competent character, and more fleshed out in a few episodes of this season than Angela was at the same stage of last.

Just laughed at the ballsiness of doing the sitcom, and for that long. This is clearly's an auteur's - Esmail's - show, and if he thinks having Elliot fantasise a 90s sitcom as a means to escape his beat down, then **** it I'm on board.

Strong choice of music too during the hack, and the flashback was pretty poignant. Really liked that ep.

That exchange between Angela and the FBI douche belongs in the Awkward Flirting Stories thread.

'You were in there a while, either getting up to no good or taking a really long shit. How about we bone?'
