I reckon we are going deeper down the rabbit hole in ep 10. Almost sure that Tyrell is another split of Eliot. Also, how good are the pop cukture refernces. Opening scene seeing Pulp Fiction then later on the train platform channeling Ving Rhames "I am very ****ing far from Ok".
Mr Alderson/Mr Anderson.
Pixies instrumental from FC at the end.
Just brilliant show.

Heard good things about this but hadn't got around to it.

Anyway, caught it after the footy last night.

Friggin' loved it!

"You knew all along didn't you".

That was a line I was ******* waiting for, it's perfect.

When Maxence Cyrin's piano version of Where Is My Mind started, I lost it. In a good way. This show is hitting all my pop cultural sensibilities with a ******* sense of fearlessness I don't get from many other shows, even the really good ones.

I love this so much.

What am I supposed to be looking at?

That scene where Mr Robot meets with Tyrell still has me confused...

I'm positive Tyrell thinks he's talking to Elliott but Elliott just thinks he's Mr Robot in this scene.

Tyrell starts off saying the same stuff he's being saying to Elliott all along about wanting to work together but when Mr Robot shuts him down Tyrell's reaction to this attitude is what gives it away for me:

Tyrell said:
I don't know what game you're playing, but I suggest you cut the bullshit.

To me that says he thinks he's speaking to socially awkward Elliott and is genuinely surprised by Elliott's behaviour, especially when you consider how painfully quiet Elliott had been in all his previous interactions with Tyrell. Tyrell then says:

Tyrell said:
Aren't you forgetting that I know your dirty little secret?

We're supposed to assume he's speaking to Mr Robot here but considering that Tyrell and Elliott actually have spoken about Elliott framing Colby I think this is what he actually means. In episode 9 Tyrell's comments to Elliott are consistent with the car conversation he had with Mr Robot, he's still talking about wanting to know the plan, he's still talking about working together, only this time we know he is speaking directly to Elliott.

There are theories going around that Elliott and Tyrell are the same person but Elliott's boss Gideon shoots this one down for me as he very clearly identifies them as two real and separate human beings.

Good article from Time.

"Another cynical drama might be a tough sell in the wake of True Detective‘s second season, in which a water stain served as inspiration for a five-minute Vince Vaughn reverie about being locked in a basement full of rats. But where the once-lauded HBO drama left fans dozing, Mr. Robot will jolt them awake."

Mr Robot and both seasons of True Detective are such unique concepts in completely different genres, there are no stylistic, thematic, cast or plot similarities at all so attempting a comparison is just ridiculous for me. I would never recommend Mr Robot to someone because they liked True Detective, or vice versa.
