Rebox.net my dudes (google it and get from a 3rd party site, don’t use that URL). Download a really lightweight little converter and wallah, your shitty .mkv’s are now pristine .mp4’s. Takes about 5 mins to do an hour-ish 1080p episode on a bog standard 6 year old computer.

(I have no idea who decided .mkv’s are the new hotness, worst decision ever)

It does but it's a povvo one that won't play mkv at all , SOMETIMES it'll play avi's and mp4's

Handbrake is fine too, I just find Rebox cleaner (conversion settings that you don't need to worry about are tucked away rather than smashed all over the UI lol) and faster.
