Was an emotional roller coaster that finale ep, gonna miss it.

Will be fun rewatching it down the track having everything in context.

Kinda irrelevant but still wondering what that Tyrell light that he saw all those eps was as it always seemed to be a sign for something more but I guess it was just to build towards the White Rose hype and he just died.

I'm glad that the alternative reality White Rose style didn't exist as it just didn't fit into the context of the rest of this series.

Mr Robot mentioned that he slipped into this reality when he was going through his morphine withdrawl however I can't really recall that. Season 1 I remember him going to that house trying to get a fix, someone getting shot etc but don't recall him slipping into the fake reality he created?

Yeah **** this was an amazing series.

Wow. What a journey that was. Amazing television. It's our little secret.

Feel kind of empty now that it's over. That finale was so well done. fu**.

That show felt really important to me. Dunno why but it kind of hit me in the last 5 minutes. Just that show that I've watched by myself and really, really enjoyed.

So glad that I got to experience that.
It'll be great reading this thread in the future as people randomly start watching it and come in here like WTFFFFF

The season 1 stuff I just found on Reddit. Mind-blowing stuff -

I love when a show can have something like that going for so long and none of us having any idea.

Yeah it's always great when a creator of a series has an ending from the beginning and then works their way backwards. Instead of making shit up after a season.

It was the perfect ending. I especially liked the glimpses and call backs from s1+2. Then the outro track by M83 hits at the end. Bittersweet moment.

Is the Elliot we’ve seen the entire time just one of the personalities that real Elliot has/see’s?

That was " Mastermind Elliott " - ( MM Elliott )

Have a read of this -

For every show that sticks their landing , there's one that botches it completely , MR ROBOT will be known as 1 of the former.

Yet to find it used anywhere that didn't add to the scene , even the ending to " The Gambler " benefited

Thought I would spend Christmas night watching the finale.

This is gunna be a tough show to replace.

I am not ashamed to say that I teared up when he was telling Angela over the phone how much he loved her and wanted to be with her but all the while kinda knowing the wedding was never going to happen, heartbreaking stuff and heartbreak sucks bad.

The closing scenes were brilliantly done as well.

Def in my top 5 shows of all time.

Only a few whiterose related questions.

what was the purpose of the machine and why the Congo?

What did he show Angela?

I think the machine was supposed to enable travel to parallel universes, or to simulate them. The Congo storyline was just about moving the machine to a location with less regulations to continue testing. That need for secrecy went out the window when Zhang was unmasked and White Rose suddenly had nothing to lose.

It doesn't matter what Angela was shown because at the end of the day she was just brainwashed. Remember all those self help type tapes she was using to try and become more confident at work? We've seen from very early on how impressionable Angela is.

Holy shit. Thought they might have been in real trouble conceptually halfway through the finale, but man did they stick the landing. What a show.

Fight Club from Tyler Durden's point of view

Random thought - imagine Darlene got on the plane with Dom, she wouldn't have been there to get MM Elliot to give up control.

Will be rewatching for sure, some of a season 1 stuff I've seen highlighted, wowee. Pretty rare to get a show with such a predetermined end.

I tend to think Whiterose was just a bit crazy, they were probably trying to build something like that but I always felt pretty doubtful about it actually working.

And yeah agree re: Angela, I just assume she was brainwashed. Elliot even references it when he's in that room with Whiterose, "it won't work on me like it did her" or similar.

Just finished this off today. Genuinely astonished at how little this show is known.

They perfected the amount of stuff getting neatly tied up compared with being left to interpretation IMO.
- Dom - Struggled with sleep the whole series. Last shot of her we see (apart from parallel cop Dom) is her asleep on the plane after having being told her and her family are safe. Probably didn't die.
- Price - went out like a badass. Knowing that WR was ****ed and told him that he had "run out of time" which cut WR deep. He knew he was dead the moment he stepped foot in that building.
- Darlene - Didn't die. Finally got to see her "real" brother again.
- Whiterose - confirmed dead and pretty much confirmed as incredibly powerful but also batshit crazy. The physical project was real but its capabilities were not.
- Tyrell - not absolutely confirmed dead, potentially up for interpretation. Feel like in that episode he came to grips with all of his flaws though so it would kind of make sense if he died peacefully out in the woods. I'd say his ending was probably the most disappointing for such an integral and awesome character.

And then the whole Mastermind Elliot/Mr Robot/Real Elliot ending explains a lot of stuff about Elliot but leaves some minor details/gaps across the whole series up to the viewers' interpretation which is fine IMO. To me, the reveal about the Elliot we see not being "real" is more of a message/statement from Esmail saying that if you want to see change in the world then you need to be the one to act out and be part of the change (Mastermind Elliot). I don't think it is supposed to perfectly explain every single minute of the 4 seasons and be complete like a jigsaw puzzle, even though the show was clearly written with that ending in mind.

Also a line I loved that may have been forgotten about due to what happened immediately after is when Peanut (Vera's sidekick) pulls the gun on Mr Robot and says "where's your courage now" and Mr Robot calmly looks at him and says "right ****in' here". Of course straight after we know what happens but I thought that line was a great example of Slater's confident, charismatic, awesome acting and was also a good example of him protecting Elliot.

Just watched episode 4.07 (the one with Elliot, Mr Robot, Krista and Vera) and it might be best episode of TV I've ever seen. I'm in shock.

So thankful I renewed watching the show after stopping after the first season.

Finished the finale but watched the 1st episode straight after to see all the breadcrumbs. Incredible how it's all there in plain sight.

This show is The Wire/Mad Men/Breaking Bad/Sopranos tier for sure. Don't understand how it didn't gain the traction of the aforementioned though. Personally it's easily top 5 all time and could be number 1. So emotionally drained but uplifted after that.

Those who haven't seen this treat yourself and watch this show.
