If a nudge like that puts you off, you'll never make it as an AFL player.
Also, if the umpires paid those we'd have 150 free kicks every game.

its like pushing someone just as they are kicking it. Its a free because its dangerous. When you are running a full pelt see how you go if someone gives you a nudge in the back.

A bad tackle equals an eye gouge. Riiiiighhht...

Or in MRP speak:
An accidental bad tackle is equivalent to a deliberate eye-gouge.

If you look at the bit of footage on the AFL sight,Webster does it twice.
Looks as though he's actually trying to jab his thumb into Subes eyesocket.
If you've had it done to you, you'll know how bloody painful it is.

Remember Sir Judd on Campbell Brown?
Nothing to see there.
Except the entire country saw it.

McCarthy was barely jogging. The powder puff tap in the back didn't bring him to the ground. It was an unacceptably soft attempt to mark the ball. Imagine if it was Tabs?

His tackle on Gilbert showed much more vigour and McCarthy was moving far quicker. That was a dangerous tackle. The risk of injury was obvious. If they challenge it, they will lose.

Often times when players get suspended for stupid acts they say they need to rebuild the trust and respect of their teamates for doing something silly. In this instance I'd say he'd have the backing of his teammates and coaching staff for choosing the right option and getting unlucky. Club should challenge it for the sake of it and if he gets an extra week let him go surfing with his mates for a week before hitting the training track again. He needs to know he has their full support.

As for the intentional contact to the eye, well that's obviously not on. As a supporter its hard not to think about how hard done by we were in respect to a couple of decisions and the outcome of a close game.

Intentional - We have been shafted. It was a reflex.

Sean Darcy, Fremantle, has been charged with striking Nick Vlastuin, Richmond, during the second quarter of the Round 22 match between Fremantle and Richmond, played at Domain Stadium on Sunday August 20, 2017.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Richmond Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable record with impacts the penalty. An early plea enables the player to accept a one-match sanction
