Silly by Dawson but considering some of the other stuff that we have seen let go this year, such as Harvey's hit on Selwood or Yarren's hit on the Lions player that was deemed insufficient force, why ping Dawson for this??

Well my first choice for key defender would be Pav, but he's also my first choice for key forward, midfield, ruck, like every position really.

I know Brisbane should get destroyed by us on the weekend, but just look at the saints game last year what happens when we "lose" enough players. I'd be up for us contesting it if we had an extra player in the wings.

That's true. He is really being penalized for not being a golden boy. If one of the golden boys had done it they would have gotten away with it for sure.

Dropped his knee into Reiwoldt when Jack was on the ground after a marking contest.

Zero in it, but you just don't do that shit these days.

Pretty simple really.

This...but, but, but...if XYZ star player did it:mad:.....is really tiresome and pointless.

Weak assed for sure and he shouldn't have done it, I just don't understand how it measures up against the other weak assed acts that get assessed but deemed not worthy of points.

But I should know better than to try and understand how the MRP works. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I think it is quite likely that the insufficient force get out of free card that certain players appear to get ( but ours often don't) will be reviewed at the end of the year. It appears to be used in a way so as to stop players who are deemed to be fair players from getting suspended. There has to be a better way.

Think he copped one in the nads looking at the replay. That'd make me weak at the knees too. Could argue incidental due to the accidental contact to his groin causing him to drop.

But that's how court systems work. You need consistency of sentencing, or else what's the point?

If you have a look at the replay, he got "tangled" in Jack's unco legs going everywhere and seemed to fall over. It was a bit unco, and a boot in the fig bag would explain it, but hardly malicious. Really accidental contact and minor force.

No doubt that some players receive more leniency, however a lot, (not all), of the complaining here doesn't have much balance and is heavily biased.
Internet shock! Team board is biased toward team. News at 11.

Because Riewoldt squirmed around like Zac had hit him with an axe, instead of a pointy knee.

Looked like insufficient force to me too. But the MRP just look at the reaction of the player. If they get straight back up as if it had never happened, typically (in theory?) they call it insufficient force. If the hitee is an actor, then the hitter is likely up sh*t creek.

Yarran in particular was really lucky. Boomer with his karate chop, similarly.

I suppose so. Nevertheless, there is a discrepancy, as you acknowledge. That is no way to run a justice system! The difference should be based on past record, which the loading % is used for. For the actual incident, an assault is an assault is a rough conduct is a rough conduct.

How's Alex Pearce been going at WAFL level? I would have been up for challenging and if he doesn't get off then Alex gets a run. The early taste of AFL experience (especially against a side without many experienced talls) would do him good like playing on Buddy would have done for Tanner.

It's not a justice system though.

It SHOULD be one, as it should use precedent.

But it doesn't.
