I’m hoping it was that clear that Nank gets first shot this week

But also think they’ll be wanting to give milera as much exposure as possible , maybe they should both play half back this week as good comparison

They’re not tinkering in the last hitout before round 1. They’ll be putting their best 22 on the park in the positions they think they’ll be playing in round 1. Nanks’ hope is that Cumming plays half a game and he is that good and Milera bad that the coaches have no choice.

Let’s say Max is available round 1 ( I have my doubts and would prob be cautious with him ) what you think happens at selection ?

Wasn't there a quote from someone saying Max would have played against the Power if it was a home and away game?

Him not playing is them being cautious, I think he'll be fine by Rd 1.

Rankine and Cumming would have

Max might have, but i think a week off would've always been on the cards.

It was a quote from Max himself, in an interview he did with Bickley during one of the breaks during the Port Pirie intra-club practice match. It was before the injury had been fully assessed post-game. I'm not sure if the statement still holds true, in the light of his subsequent injury diagnosis.

Anyone mentions Murphy's performance.
Someone needs to tell him to slow down. He was running around ball chasing with little effect. I doubt he is any better than an average SANFL player atm.

Smith had some good moments. His kicking was better, more like the old Smith.
He's won a SANFL BnF, he'll be fine at that level.

Oops... quoted the wrong post.

My previous post about Max was supposed to be in response to this:

Nah, Milera was solid.

Lost one marking contest he'd usually kill but otherwise racked up a bit of the ball and used it without too many issues.
Milera was poor, lost where his man was numerous times, needs at least six weeks in the SANFL along with Pedlar.
Nankervis must be rewarded for his continued improvement.

Milera has never been a good defender, if he’s not racking up the possessions and metres gained he has to be replaced.

Nank has to be in the team. Even Silvers dropped his name as one of our promising juniors who are ready.
Yep milera has to be dynamic with the ball and use his speed / agility and take risky kicks

If he’s playing safe then what’s the point , he’s not a great defender

It’s fine he will take time getting back post injury but we don’t need to pick him until he’s bringing his weapons

If he’s picked it’s purely on name and potential.

Would be madness to pick him when he’s not in form.

From memory didn't Milera start the season in the A's after his first comeback from a knee, stink it up and get dropped to the B's?

Found some form in the B's, returned to the A's and performed better in the back half of the year?

Looking at footywire, was 2022 after returning from patella tendon year off. Hopefully history repeats if the same occurs. I thought he started slowly last year though, but maybe there wasn’t as much trust in Nank then. Plus we’ve got Bond who they wouldn’t have thought was ready.

2022 they played him forward for a year in his first year after the long term injury

Maybe, but it's still an odd comment to make based on a 8 period match sim when we finished 15th

I watched the 3 periods where our As played their As and I watched the period where our Bs played their As. Based on what I saw from them last year, and what I saw from them in that match, they are thin on the ground for depth. Nothing odd about that. I agree it's difficult to draw too much from match sim in Feb but I've got two eyes and what I saw wasn't good. Go browse their forum - more than 90% of their supporters feel much the same way.

Oh I'm sure they do.

Worth noting we've got as good a record against them as we do anyone in the Nicks era.

So us beating them isn't something that's uncommon as such
