Current Murder of Finks bikie Shane Bowden - President of the Mongols charged

Queensland police say they have charged the president of a Brisbane chapter of the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) with the murder of Gold Coast defector, Finks bikie Shane Bowden.

Shane Bowden died last October after he was shot 21 times in the driveway of his Pimpama home.

Today, specialist police arrested 46-year-old Ian Robert Crowden after searching a residence on Thornton Road in Chuwar, south-west of Brisbane.

Bowden was jailed for six years over the Glitter Strip's wild "ballroom blitz" at Royal Pines Resort in 2006, where three people were shot and two stabbed.

After his release from prison, Bowden "patched over" to the Mongols bikie club in 2013.

All Queensland Finks, except for six members, followed suit to avoid being disbanded under a police launched court action declaring them a criminal organisation.

Just before he was murdered, Bowden had re-joined the Finks.

The police allege, while not the trigger man (I think there was two of them actually) that Crowden counselled, financed and directed the execution.

Don’t think he was a snitch just a dickhead trying to get the top again, was booted from Vic pretty quick after he got out..
I just questioned the snitch being him because I thought you meant must be a snitch to get the pres. Arrested
Nah not that. Defects, returns, dead.

Can’t play on both sides in that league.

The police think it stems from what happened in Victoria when Bowden was thrown out of the Mongols for bashing another member, he left in bad standing. That probably should have been the end of his career as a bikie.

So, what goes around comes around. Live by the sword, die by the sword, don't take your bang bangs to the kickboxing in disrespect and other etc truisms.

The wild brawl broke out at a kickboxing tournament and Bowden was later found guilty of shooting Christopher Hudson over his defection to the rival bikie gang Hells Angels.

Loudly & proudly. Too much Alpha in those groups.

I was thinking, as Frank suggested that they were either using that encrypted app the police designed and monitored or people who knew who was responsible for the murder, were gossiping over it.

We'll find out a bit more as time goes on, the Nick Martin murder proceedings start in August I think. There's something about that app figured in to that investigation as well.

Seven more charges so I'm thinking the police must have some pretty good intel.

Sounds like quite a few were at least involved in the planning and operation of the murder. As to who pulled the trigger, I’m guessing they hadn’t assembled a firing squad. So the police must be hoping for some squealing to narrow down the murderer/s.

Whats anom?

It was called anom.

Underworld figures were tricked into communicating via an encrypted app that had been designed by police.

The app was unwittingly distributed by 'running scared' Australian drug trafficker Hakan Ayik, after he was given the device by undercover agents. Ayik, 42, recommended the app to criminal associates who would purchase the device pre-loaded with AN0M on the black market.

Just in case people aren't aware - Bowden's son is currently in custody in SA on a murder charge of his own, too.

Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And this from his wife:

'I hope no family has to go what we have gone through, karma is a b*****,' Bowden's daughter-in-law Chelsea told the Herald Sun in December.

'No one deserves to die like that, to be shot in such a cowardly move.'

Yeah, they should be beaten to death instead. What an absolute hypocrite. Someone else who needs to get a grip.

But remember these flogs think they are either innocent or just straight up beyond reproach themselves.
