You said he would get a minimum.. then said he would never be released?

He will get Life with a Minimum term before he can apply parole. No way he will get parole. As in Julian Knight and the Russell St Bomber will never get released. If ever it looks likely the public outcry will be too great a law will be put in to prevent it.
All good. It's just my opinion, which won't change and i know it will never be introduced here, which is cool.

Think it might be. If you did a straw poll most would be in favour. Only convention and bi partism support blocks it. A Trump/Hanson etc like charecter pushes it and people are disenfranchised with the current system (that they vote in a fringe candidate) I can see a circumstance it could be an issue put on the table. (Justifiably so in cases like this).

I highly doubt that.

"Jaymes Todd says his rape and murder of aspiring Melbourne comedian Eurydice Dixon didn’t go as he planned.

But two psychologists disagree about whether the killing was premeditated.

Todd set upon Ms Dixon, 22, as she walked barefoot through Carlton North’s Princes Park on June 12 last year.

Then 19, Todd had stalked Ms Dixon for five kilometres from the city, where she had performed a comedy gig. ..."

IMO he would get life with a parole period at 35-40 years.

Similar crimes have resulted in life in prison without parole. Unlike Bailey, he doesn’t a previous criminal record and he is at a young age, so he may get a parole period.

He will get a minimum and won’t get life, young and no record unfortunately he will get a chance to walk free I think

Isn’t this the whole point of the justice system and removal of the death penalty?

Rehabilitation and giving people a chance to rejoin society?

I don’t particularly think this individual deserves much (any) leniency in the sentencing, but the principle of our legal system is generally one of not just locking people up and throwing away the key except in the most extreme and exceptional circumstances.

Reading the articles the prospect of him being rehabilitated or treated from the sadistic mental condition he has (I forgot the actual technical term used) is very unlikely.

Pretty much he’s always going to threat to society if released.

Even if he didn’t have this mental condition I wouldn’t have have a problem if the justice system locks people away for the rest of their lives for committing crimes such as this.

Paraphilia

After eating a pie and having a little nap post rape and murder, he watched more extremely violent porn which depicted rape.

Thats 55yo when he is released tho. That is very young still really.

80% chance of reoffending is scary- particularly when you think this was his first offence ever.
Will come out a young man. Still possible to have 30+ years.

Ridiculous

They don’t have to let him out after 35 years. They have the ability to keep him locked up until he dies.

Von Einem for example got life with 36 year non parole. That has come and gone and they won’t ever let him out.

God he gives/gave sadistic just a whole new meaning.

Kinda same deal with Julian Knight? He seems to always be up on parole

Yep. I’d imagine there is some requirement to offer parole but it’s just window dressing. No government would survive letting the like of Von Eienem, Knight, Baden Clay back onto the streets. And nor should they
