With the good form and promise showed by birchall in the first 2 rounds and then in the vfl on the weekend, what does this mean for players such as murphy, brennan and thurgood as all seem to be atm aiming for the same hbf/utility spot?
Brennan with his poor kicking seems to be on thin ice, thurgood needs to seriously bulk up and stop getting injured, while murphy seems to have been leapfrogged in the pecking order by birchall maybe due to concerns of his lack of pace.
Meanwhile birch appears to have shown good speed, composure and decison making, clean skills and an almost afl ready body in his performances so far.
Any thoughts on where do these 3 players (murphy, brennan and thurgood) fit in hawthorns long term future/ lineup?
