Welch-dud, spud, no good
Walton- knows how to kick goals
Jones- goalkicking mid
Rickard- good goer
Van der Sluys- when fit damaging midfielder who breaks the lines
Sage- smart leader, always on the goalkicking list on a saturday
Merrert- ?????
Maddox- if fit will be best player in comp hands down!!!!!!!!

should go close to finals, make it this year anything is possible come september!!!

Ringo i believe you have knowledge of the Echuca Football Club? Well going by other posts at least that would appear to be the case. How will Height go up in the O & M - is he coach or what's the set up do you know? Watched him play for Blackburn and was impressed.

Hey Johnny, pretty sure Brad Murray is coach and Height assistant. He's been coming up and playing for the Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL & been dominating; kicked six last week in a losing side. One of the best players I've seen and will have a massive impact for Myrtleford, should be a walk up start in the inter league side and will prob feature prominently in the league medal if he stays uninjured.

Yeah Peter Banfield his coach at Blackburn rated him very highly. Murray has been good for a long time too - hard at it. Pity they lost all those Melbourne based players - see Border Mail for list of outs!! Taberner to Fremantle also. A mate of mine in Lavington says they should merge with Bright like their juniors? Alpine Eagles?

I'm not sure Banfield actually coached him; jezza Campbell coached Blackburn from '06-'08, then Steve cochrane took over from '09-'10, which means Banfield took over in 2011, which was the year Height won the Morrison for Echuca...? Either way it doesn't matter and I'm sure all th Murray league punters aren't that interested on hearing about a bloke playing in the O&M...!

Tavis, whilst I got you here, (and nothing to do with the Murray league), just thought Id take the chance to ask you about Cupido..... 96 goals in 12 games up there.... outstanding... so whats the go here with this form, for example is he close to full fitness etc etc.. give us an update please mate. Will he play for Thunder ?

I think moama will go alright this year, will have a decent mids in Maddox, Jones and Van der Sluys and hopefully they get Thorpe out on the field this year, might just nedd a big chf to kick too. Walton should kick 60 odd goals if he stays fit, think your a bit harsh on Welch came third in L/G best and fairest so cant be all that bad, from the looks of it they have recruited well, not sure if the recruits will push them deep into finals but time will tell.

Yes welch is a handy red head. Him vs jarjoura will be an interesting clash.

nah not harsh gunny were a very very ordinary side, plus he was just a twos player at echuca. Got a few senior games when his dad was president i think that was in hendos contract, he had to play him.

Hey guys just wondering how toc are going to look this coming season?
Heard they are struggling a little, also heard they may have signed a couple..
Does anyone have any inside word on the bloods!!

Might need to add former Echuca and St Kilda rookie Chris Jones to that lot! Good tall

With Barooga and Cobram so close not to mention other smaller clubs a merge should be an option for Tocumwal to consider - eg - Koondrook/Barham - Leicthville/Gunbower

Tocumwal isn't your typical border town as there isn't a team directly across the river. Yarroweyah play in the Picola NW and are probably the closest. I would think that Toc will soldier on themselves. Having said that weaker MFL teams have a tendency to make their way into the PDFL (Strathmerton, Berrigan, Jerilderie).

grasskat,
Yes, I think Toc will soldier on... they spent plenty of money a few years ago which got them rewards, but the dollars dried up and thus a club ends up the next few years as cellar dwellers, until they can get back on their feet financially so to speak..(and thats if they can)... no need to elaborate, we all know its been going on in country footy for the past 30 plus years, and this will not change. I comment, its very important for a small town footy club to survive, for it provides a major service to its townsfolk and farming community...( and that includes the womens netball ) Its a huge part of life in the country areas for many many people, not just players, and I hope these small clubs will survive, even if they dont win a flag for 50 years, the important factor is having the chance to participate from primary school age upwards . Yes the goal is to win the flag, but its more important to have a club that participates and caters for many in the community.

Rumbalara looking in good shape with the key signing of former sydney premiership player michael o'laughlin for the unity cup against congupna plus other new signings and players coming back to the club
