Murray "Ex Eagle" Newman. Heard on the grapevine we are backing him right up to the sentencing, which ever way it falls he's done and dusted as an Eagle. Don't ask where I heard this because the answer will be the "Alcoa Grapevine". This very grapevine has known to be wrong in the past but has this uncanny ability to drag a rumour into reality :).

Why rookie list him then?

Jack, I understand this is BF, where rumour runs amok and regardless of circumstance, is king!

I note your "rumour", but I'm rather hopeful that the "Alcoa Grapevine" proves to be the collective haemorrhoids that infest the sedentary, somewhat comatose employees down there. In a mineral processing environment so lacking in challenge, it's not surprising they are inclined to day dream or are simply making shit up.

You were there?

If you were the arresting officer at the time I can only re-iterate.

"Yes Sir, I believe I can drive it home"

Well you would be thinking kwinana ( the comatose sedentary haemorrhoid ) but in fact there are several other places Alcoa infest their environmentally debilitating hegemony in this state with that specific region being the furthest from my inhabitance.

Well I wasn't thinking Kwinana with their 2D, 2N, 4Off, possibly on call scenario, but hey, if the shoe fits and all that.

You've actually interrupted my train of thought (apologies to Bob) on our list. Bugger, now I've got Big Jack playing of half back.

Don't read this Adam - he must be in the space behind JK or first up to the point of 50 to drag a couple to the contest leaving behind you know who.

Its actually a 2N, 2D 6off at my site :) money might be very average but its the best roster on the planet.

If being Perth based is a priority, I agree, it's the best going round. Except for the night shift, which, coupled with the cash makes it less desirable that it would otherwise appear.

If you want a truly great roster and good bucks, the O & G crowd have it down pat. 3 weeks on (dry), 3 weeks off (not dry), 3 weeks on (dry again), 6 weeks off (not dry and difficult to remember whether you have a real job or not) and the best part of 200k a year. You just have to know a bloke.

3 Weeks on ?? wtf never!!!! 4 days on with 6 days off is the go even though the money is a fair bit less than 200k. I reckon I would last 1 swing @ 3 weeks on and never return.

Figure out the roster and the annual leave and you are working 3 1/2 months a year or something - that's worth 3 weeks for

>done and dusted as an eagle regardless of the sentence
>contracted for 2014

alright m8

While the rumour might be ridiculous, the fact that he's contracted is neither here nor there. Being found guilty of GBH gives the club an out if they want to exercise it ...

Funny that, people seem to think they know best but.

Having come out with a statement that they're standing by Newman straight after the guilty verdict, the club might have given up their right to terminate him.

If he gets jail they can probably say he's unable to perform his duties and so the contract comes to an end. But if he gets a suspended sentence I don't think they'll be able to axe him.

I understood their intention to 'stand by him' was meant more in an off-field context. They would probably cut him loose at the end of the 2014.

If the rumour is true, which I hope it isn't.
