Springsteen is just magical in concert. How in the hell does he have such energy at 67? One of the greatest entertainers of all time imo.

Worth watching/listening to if you would like learn more about what Henry Rollins has been up to.

Absolute legend of a bloke! Saw his speaking show a few years back. A bit exy but would highly recommend he has lived a very very interesting life.

That podcast went for 2 hr and 38 mins and I it took quite a few days to get through but was worth it.

Vaguely remember seeing Rollins play with the Hard Ons in the early 1990s. I still the vinyl for their cover of AC/DC's "Let there be rock".

Mate I am absolutely spewing with jealousy. I recently came across that cover on 4ZZZ and have had it on repeat ever since!!!!!
I'd give my right arm to see Rollins play back in the day. I've watched so much old footage of him in black flag and then the Rollins band and my god he was an absolute weapon back in the day. You lucky lucky bastard

Why in the **** was Kid A called a weak album by anyone?

Elton John is awesome.

Well I'm chuffed. The Painters and Dockers have quietly made their way on to Spotify, meaning I can easily get my ears onto some of their classics, Especially this gem which was a cover of a song from an episode of Get Smart.

The greatest Painters and Dockers song for mine. I have the original 7 inch single and it still gets a fairly regular run.

THe Scars - Undrated Scottish band. Caught between the whole New Romantic thing and an early U2 / Simple Minds sound. This is their best track.

I have this album on vinyl. Good record that has aged well, methinks.

Here's my three favourite tracks from Australia's most underrated band of the 1980's.

Mental as Anything were not all cool and postpunk, but they wrote some very quirky and intelligent pop. Chris O'Doherty and Reg Mombassa gave them that wonderful New Zealand art school edge.

This sounds so much better in MONO. This is the album as it was meant to be heard. Psychedelic, raw and rocking out.

While I'm at it, This is much better in MONO too. George Martin laboured over the Mono mixes and they represent the true and original sound of these two great albums.

Listen with a decent set of headphones and you will hear the difference. Any time spent with Billy Puller or Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds will enhance your experience further.

Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I came across this article and enjoyed reminiscing about this wonderful Brisbane institution and the great times I had there for a number of years. This was my first ever Livid festival and what a great day it was. :)

Thanks for sharing this JasperBeardly.

What a lineup.

d.i.g were hugely influential on me and more of a drawcard than Powderfinger at this point.

Yeah it was still pretty early days for Powderfinger then. I think they probably only had the one full album out at that stage? But then D.I.G was probably the same.

'94 was a great line up. I got quite a kick out of the bits in the article where both Richie from Tumbleweed and Paige Hamilton said that was one of their favourite gigs ever as those were are honestly two of the best festival sets I've seen. Helmet in particular just blew the roof off the joint.

Davies Park was a great setting too. If you needed a break from the main stage or the big top, you could go and sit under one of those giant fig trees and watch someone like the Dirty Three strut their stuff.

3KZ is Football featuring two classics compelled me to compare.

Which is better? Peppers or MMT?

I'm gonna say MMT. I know history proclaims Peppers as a great album, which it is, but I feel like it's given extra credits for its change of direction in music at the time. It's undoubtedly revolutionary but honestly, who listens to it regularly over MMT or Revolver? I'll listen to both of those happily the whole way through but now skip pretty hard when listening to Peppers.
