Anyone else heard any good songs worth downloading/buying in recent times? I've got this new song in my head at the moment which is pretty damn annoying from the woman who sang 'I'm like a Bird'.

I'm trying to figure it out who it is.

Also, for all you guys wondering where you can find music from online for free, i'd recommend downloading Limewire Basic, an international file-sharing software that enables you to download music, videos, programs - you name it!

I've found the occasional Hawthorn match on there as well!

I dont download music, i got about 200 albums so im fine with that, but my friends all use this one soulseek which is pretty nifty i guess, they rave about how good it is, but not as big as limewire and stuff so if your serching for obscure music you probably wont find

Anyone here a 'Heavy-metal' fan? A suprisingly large number of my friends really like listening to it, but I just cant get 'into it'.

How about we use this thread to expose music that is not in the mainstream in "Australia", could be big somewhere else.

A group I found out about a year ago was Roots Manuva, only listened to two albums but they rocked.

Why doesn't everyone tell us about their favourite band so we can get a feel for taste.

Mine's You Am I. Tim Rogers is a god to me. He loves his footy (North supporter) and is critically acclaimed as possibly Australia's best song writer... ever.

Influenced just about anyone who's anyone in Australian music, and has saved my ass in a fight on one occassion.

All round top bloke, frontman of the best live act on the planet.

Also, possibly the only band that has its own footy scarf.

The Kooks are awesome! Hopefully they will hit it big in Australia soon and do a tour. Their album is pretty mad - check out the song "Matchbox".
I also like the Kaiser Chiefs from the UK.

Buddy I don't mind Pete Murray, but I prefer Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. There's a small Australian band called "Custom Kings" who are sort of a cross between "Cat Empire" and Pete Murray.

I love a lot of old Aussie rock, just because thats what they play at the pub haha. Cold Chisel (Khe San - what an anthem), Australian Crawl, INXS and of course AC/DC. Of the new stuff, I like "the Living End", have seen them live heaps - including a free live show at Fed Square - and they are great!

It's pretty cool how they were selling the "You Am I" football club scarves, for every football club at their gigs.
