Good question. He's registered with East Perth so could be a chance I guess: http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/3993

Wouldn't expect him to play though, just go straight into pre-season training for '15.
Given they thought it would be inappropriate for him playing in the prison team, I doubt it would be a good look swanning back in for finals.

Why? Gets realeased in 2 weeks. Give him a month with his family and enjoy some freedom. Come October he should be right to fit that track and smash the pre-season. He's going to be like a new recruit and help our issue for outside pace.
Because that seems to be the excuse clubs dish up every year.

"Delayed start to pre season...." "starting from a long way back..." "playing catch up on the other players..."

If he stubbed his toe and had a couple days off it'd be "had an injury interrupted pre season so he's not fully fit..."

I don't know what sort of shape he's going to be in at all. Only making a presumption based on his last pre season, where he returned in worse shape then worsfold. It's not likely a prison sentence is going to do him any favours in the fitness department.

Wasn't it McGovern that was worse than Woosha?

No, you're conflating different reports.

I don't see why he would be in bad shape. I assume he can't really get on junk food, certainly not on the piss, and would've had plenty of time to try and stay fit. If his fitness was bad to begin with it may have improved somewhat.

Hopefully he has realised life isn't a party and he's got a great chance to make a go of an AFL career.

Nah Gov was 2014 pre season, simmo ****** him off.

Newman was 2013, when woosha was still coach. I presume he didn't take part in much of the 2014 pre season due to his sentence.
Ok thanks for clearing that up I thought it was something like that.

I think its great that the club has stuck by him through all of this. Would have been easy to wash their hands of this and even if he doesn't make it as a footballer I hope the support they have offered over the last year is enough to help him get his life back on track

Didn't go in until March. Think he may have played in the Tigers vs the All Stars game with Hill and Wellingham too, he was at least there for the camp they had up the NT anyway.

He was provided a program while inside however I think initial reports was that it was a litlle frustrating given the food wasn't really the diet of an AFL footballer. But no beer for 6 months won't harm him.

According to today's West he has put on 8 kg since he has been working out with Wareen Campbell on his fitness and conditioning scheme whilst he has been inside .

Apparently he is in pretty good condition.

Early days but that sounds encouraging .

Hopefully it is muscle and not fat.

I wonder how much of the personal training agenda has been set to assess his commitment. It is easier to train in a group, much harder on your own.

Hopefully he comes back focussed on and off-field.

They do not exactly get given large amounts of food in there.

Pretty sure he played our pre season games as there was talk about 'should we be allowing him to play'.

He did play v Fremantle twice in the pre-season games. He was talked up by Simmo a few times over the pre-season on how he was taking it serious and putting in the hard yards. If putting on 8kgs of muscle and following his program from the club during his time there i think he is going to have a good fitness base come pre-season.
