i thought whelans attack on the ball was first class and he conti nues to be a very gutsey player. Dean Cox certainly knows that

Hard to leave Robbo out after 5 goals. But I'm going to anyway

2 - Brown (Gutsed it out when we were struggling)
1 - Robertson (Was headed for all 6 at HT, faded)
Whelan very stiff but he did let Matera get goal side twice, hence the two goals... The delivery to Matera was awful.
I'd like to see a bit more accountability from Yze as a defender. However he was good again.
Wheatley was excellent again.
Armstrong had a brilliant 2nd half.
Green, Bruce & Heff were solid.

one of materas goal was from a very soft free kick
True but Matera set one up when Whelan got caught under the ball in the 3rd. Beats any effort we managed on him last year.

sampis was the best but robbo and whelan will be the other 2 contenders for mark of the round

I'd go with Yze 3 and robbo two. I'm keen to put some money Ooooze for the Brownlow, he's just standing out above others in our team.

Well done you guys were great especially half way through 2nd quarter when we were catching you guys.
I thought that Robo was impossible to match up on for best on ground.
Rivers was sensational and you guys have got a great one there.
Yze just for his high number of possesions BUT he should playing as a loosy in the backline. Changed my mind and I would give my last vote for Brown. Simply terrific at creating the extra man.

3: Yze: Absolutely racked up possessions and we look so damaging when he and green are deleivering the ball. Even when he doesnt pinpoint a forward, he nearly always puts the ball in a dangerous spot.
2: Rivers: How good is this kid? Marks everything with one grab and I think was only beaten once all day by his opponant (I think it was Seaby that outmarked him who is a giant and had front spot).
1: Robbo: What a first half!! Marked everything and kicked straight for once. Faded in the second half but really won us the match so deserves votes.
Apologies to Browny who would have got votes if he played the last quarter, Whelan who was sensational on Matera, Thommo, who uses the ball well and tackled hard all day, Greeny who was brilliant...... I could go on all day!

Rivers got outmarked by Staker, who's only marginally taller. It was body on body, where I think Jared will struggle until he gets stronger. But other than that he has been playing brilliantly.
