Because, it's not a people's choice award, and it's also not a one-man thing.

He's selected a group of 5 posters who have varying, and relatively unbiased opinions of every game. There are certain posters who would give 10 votes to their favourite player every game, or never give votes to a particular player no matter how well they play, and it's a waste of time to have to go through and see whose votes are sensible and whose aren't.

So 5 special people get to vote on a pointless award?? If you want the award to hold credability it should be open to all those that contribute to this board and watch Collingwood every week. If its just 5 mates do it on e-mail so you 5 little mates can say overall we thought player x was the best for the Magpies why display it for all to see when 5 mates are the only ones to do it.

Publish the leader board this season so far and anyone that wants to contribute each week can do, if they miss a week delete all previous votes given pretty simple.

No, I seriously though all of Lockyer's games this year deserved 10 votes.
