Great to see someone mix it up a little. Personally (and I am in the minority I'm sure) but if both Ziebell and Hartlett were available at our pick, I'd take Hartlett.
I rate Ziebell >> Harltett.

Anyway nice work, good to see something a bit different; although I would be shattered with Cornelious with our first pick.
I would rather a Trengove thanks :thumbsu:

thanks
i think Cornliues will be good just saw him in AIS squad and watched him play for Tassie in one game.
But Taylor Walker is doing really well for u guys!! player of the future.

Porplyzia is a midfielder. He just has been playing in the forward line.

Dangerfield may not work out.. but I know he will. We shouldnt of played him. He was 17/18.

And how many forward do Crows have?
1? Brett Burton, Maybe Moran, Gill.. no way, Jericho gone, Mcgregor gone..

Umm...

Taylor Walker?

we dont need another 3rd tall in the forward.. we need someone that can hold down a key position.. a 3rd option to tippett and walker or the future.. (hoping that hentschel can get back to form aswell though).. so either a key forward, or a gun midfielder. preferably a gun midfielder, cause holding onto hope that sellar develops over the pre-season

is trengove a centre half forward..?.. and cornelius is a full forward?..

Can I ask why? Out of curiosity.

I'm not saying he isn't, just would like to know why.
I'm just a huge fan of Ziebell. I see alot of Bartel in him, and I rate him very high.
For Hartlett, hes special, but I dont see as much as him as Ziebell.

I dont have a huge reason. :)

Pick #3 (Fremantle) - Nicholas Naitanui - Fremantles recruiters are a bunch of spuds, this pick will basically be because Naitanui is Western Australian and the media already has this pick locked in. Freo would love Hartlett, but I don't think they have the balls to pick him. Don't worry Dockers fans, Naita's a gun all the same. Can't go wrong.

As i've stated before with warnock leaving for carlton (most likely) melbourne, IMO, would be silly not to pick up naita at #1 for their ruck ( who do they have?? any melbourne posters tell me please) so i think naita will be gone before we get a chance.

Melbourne have: Ruck wise:

Jake Spencer 18y.o 203cm, 98kg rookie
Mark Jamar 24 y.o 198cm, 100kg
John Meesen 22 y.o, 200cm, 97kg
Paul Johnson 24 y.o, 199cm, 103kg

they seem to have some depth their, they have some good young talls, we all know that talls take longer to deliver, and develop, so give them time.

The Swans dont need a ruckman (we will have 4 of them on our list next season) and Daniel Currie is ready for the AFL.

What the Swans do desperately need is a Key Position forward to replace Barry Hall or Michael O'Loughlin (whoever retires first).

Ideally we want

- Key Position Forward
- Height between 190cm and 196cm
- Potential Weight between 90kg and 105kg
- Strong Hands
- Good kick

Jordan Lisle?

Trengove has had injuries which has no doubt dropped him down. lets not forget Judd, Selwood

Thanks, i didnt actually know they had that much depth, but hasn't jamar played 2's all year or have i missed that too? but if naita is as good as people say he is would melb or wce want to pass on him or are the other two prospects better and naita a little bit overrated compared?

IMO AFC should hope that Lewis Johnston slides down to 10 and grab him.

I have a suspicion that because the midfielders are not an overly strong group this year that KP's may go early in the draft.

We don't need Johnstone, Walker is a year older and will play that 3rd forward role imo. We will pick a gun mid as we lack one.

I agree and if the draft was to go in this order, i suspect we would grab Chris Yarran at pick 10 or a tall mobile defender.

Not sure you can really classify this bloke as a ruckman. Or a footballer really. According to the football ops manager at Norwood when Meeso was playing in the SANFL he was regularly in the firing line for many things including: Rubbish foot skills, poor fitness, laziness and decision making skills to rival a deer caught in the headlights. His crowning moment came when running down the wing into the fwd 50, he bounced the ball, trod on it and had to leave the field injured. Sensational from the big bloke.

I would rather Sidebottom than Trengrove to add another string to our midfield's bow.

Just on Sidebottom, would be interested what people think between him and Rich?

For me, Rich is not that far ahead of him, certainly not to the point where he is a lock for top 3 whilst Sidebottom is largely mooted in the pick 8-12 region. I think Sidebottom is the better long term prospect, more strings to his bow and certainly more versatile.

I'd be more than happy if Essendon used pick 5 on Sidebottom.

For all these guys faults, I don't believe fitness was one of them, he always seemed to be up with the midfielders during preseason whilst at the Crows. His skills weren't too bad in his matches with the Crows, remember one beautiful 50-55 metre pass which laced out a team-mate. Having said that, am happy we got pick 37 (Moran) for him, small consolation for Pick 8 which we picked him at:eek:

Porplyzia isn't a midfielder, he's a half-forward.

Dangerfield's played 2 games and no matter what you deluded Adelaide supporters will have us believe, there is still a chance that he won't work out. Wait and see with him until he has established himself properly.

And finally, you've named 5 midfielders there (4 if we discount Porplyzia), do you know how many midfielders each team requires in today's game? Have a guess (hint: it's in double figures).

Wrong.

Porplyzia is a midfielder and thats where he played in the preseason and first 3 games of the year this year. Unfortunately in round 3 he did his shoulder, which progressively got worse and as such he was pretty much restricted to forward line duties as he couldn't tackle or deal with the physical nature of stoppages and ball ups.

Watch for him to move back into the midfield next year, is just sublime to watch, Greg Williams/Jarman like, not quick, but knows exactly where to run, delivery is perfect, is tough, clean at the stoppages. Isn't super fit, so will probably still spend some time up forward, but will more than likely be starting quarters in the centre square, as well as being there at crucial moments in matches.

No Jamar has been playing as No.1 ruckman most of the year ahead of Jeff White, he was only dropped for the last game to give Dutchy a farewell. Jamar does alright in the ruck but doesn't do a lot else, Johnson is very mobile and quite good around the ground but doesn't win enough taps to be a No.1 ruckman, but is a ideal No.2 ruckman.

Meesen has been average at best in the VFL. He's often referred to as a 200cm wingman, as he's supposedly got a good athletic abiility but he's not hard enough in the ruck. We wouldn't want to rely on him next year.

We also have Martin who is playing in the backline, who at 199cm could go into the ruck if required.

Our ruck stocks aren't great, but our key forward situation is a lot worse. I'd expect us to take Watts and look at a ruckman with our 2nd or more likely 3rd round pick, Roughead if he slips, Redden, Clarke.

Pick # 16 (Geelong) - Tom Swift - Cat's can afford to take the risk. They could have another Joel Selwood type selection on their hands here

Thought the Cats needed backmen
