You should instead be thinking of a revolutionary new helmet and shoulder protection design to stop brain damage in the game. I think it's time to adopt the NFL pads and helmet. As long as contact to the head is still illegal, it will do a lot to stop brain damage from incidental contact.
With what we now know about brain damage in the game, it would be criminal not to go ahead with this.
How about PwnsDan_ ?It suits you, you should definitely go with it.

So you're saying we should whack them all with a brick just the once, and get it over with?Horseshit.
The pads and helmet are the CAUSE of repeated head trauma in American football.
Jeez. Imagine how much Duckwood would lead with his head if he had a helmet on. The helmet doing nothing at all to stop the brain bouncing around in the skill, which is what does all the damage, but gives the player the false impression of protection because it reduces the immediate pain of the impact. While suffering repeated micro traumas.
That's the problem with helmets, particularly at a junior level. When a player has one on, they can be lured into a false sense of security that the helmet makes them immune to head knocks and so they lean in with the head and have poor technique which then exposes them to more and more knocks but at a lesser severity. When you have the helmet and a good technique, like Angus BrayshawHorseshit.

if you read past the first sentence, I said it would need to be combined with illegal head contact. The helmet would just be there to soften any incidental blows to the headHorseshit.

STOP SHOUTING AT ME.
IF YOU APPLIED YOUR BRAIN INSTEAD OF YOUR GOB YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT OPPOSITION INITIATED HIGH CONTACT THAT IS THE PROBLEM.
THE AFL ALREADY HAS HIGH CONTACT RULES WHICH MANY PLAYERS USE TO ADVANTAGE BY LEADING WITH THEIR HEAD. THEY WILL DO IT MUCH MORE WITH THE ILLUSION OF PROTECTION A HELMET GIVES, EVEN TRY TO BATTER THEIR OPPONENT WITH THE HELMET. WHICH IS PRECISELY THE CONCUSSION PROBLEM IN AMERICAN FOOTBALL.
