Pickett ------> Melb

White + Heffernan -------> Essendon
Hille + pick7 + possibly a late pick or Bullen -------> Melbourne

pick7 ------> Hawthorn
Hay ------> Melbourne

MELBOURNE GAIN: Pickett, Hille, Hay + possibly Bullen or a pick
MELBOURNE LOSE: Armstrong, White, Heffernan, pick7 + pick28

Those deals would work wonders to our side and make us a genuine premiership contender. Too bad it won't happen though.

I don't really want White gone. Just concerned about the rumours saying he is pondering leaving the club.

I would jump at the opportunity of getting a top10 pick plus Hille though.

Realistically, White has 3 to 4 years at best left in him. Hille has another 6 odd.

Im hoping the pickett trade goes thru as quick as possible tommorow. I dunno whats up with all this talk bout a 4 way trade, we could just deal with port seeing as we want byron and they want arma, i would rather give them our 3rd rounder but oh well.... ill still b happy. I wouldnt do the white trade we would be screwed without him, i think if we did do that deal pick 7 would still be too much for jonny hay.

I also think we should chase fev now seeing as lance has signed with the blues.

Seriously, get a grip man. White hopefully has 3-4 great years left in him, hille has 6 mediocre ones. I dunno about you, but I'd rather a great ruckman and leader to stay around and help PJ and russian develop, rather than have 3 VFL ruckmen playing for us.
Top 10 pick in this draft btw means jack all. What good will a draft do now if we're serious about a premiership?

I never said I was going to be right fool.

We still don't have a genuine fullback either yet. Hay would have been awesome for us.

As for White, I never stated I wanted him to go. If he did want to go I would have preferred to get something decent in return instead of losing him for nista in the PSD.

Pickett is going to be invaluable for us next season.

I didn't want White traded.

There was speculation in newspapers and websites which had stated he was looking elsewhere (which ended up being false).

In hindsight I named the thread incorrectly but it was a spur of the moment thing.

i would never do the White for Hille trade, Hille is 25 and just about to hitthe prime of his career and with a full pre-season will hopefully bring himself into the top 5 ruckmen in the comp which he has the ability to do.

White is a very good ruckmen dont get me wrong but Hillle would be of more value as he is much younger and as i said will be a great ruckmen. Dont even try and say that Jamar and Johnson are better than him

I didn't want him to leave (look back, I never once said that). I'd heard a lot of speculation about him wanting out as we weren't offering him 3 seasons.

If that speculation was to be true (which it thankfully wasn't), I saw the Essendon deal as much more favourable than anything Sydney could offer.
