Homer has just played an April fools joke on Bart, and Bart wants to get him back.

BART : (hiding behind a wall) Hmmm, how can I get revenge on Homer. What's his weakness ?

HOMER : (opening the fridge and talking to himself) Ahhh, beer......my one weakness. My achilles heel if you will.

BART : Of course.....Beer ! Hmm, but what should I do with that beer ?

HOMER : (still talking to himself. opens up a beer , and it froths up) Whoops....it's a good thing that beer wasn't shaken up any more, or I would have looked quite the fool. An April fool as it were.

BART : Of course !!!

Bart then proceeds to shake up Homers beer to such an extent that if Homer opens it, it will explode. Homer opens the Beer, and as Bart shouts : "April fools", the whole house explodes, due to the shaken up can of Duff.

Chief Wiggum and the Black Cop notice the explosion

BLACK COP : That looks like an explosion at the old Simpsons place.

WIGGUM : Ah, don't worry about it. I'd have to get up.

BLACK COP : That looks like beer coming out of the chimney.

WIGGUM : (getting up) I am proceeding on foot. Call all cars to the Simpsons house.

BLACK COP : (talking into his radio) All sections make your way to the Simpsons house quick....we need pretzels, repeat....pretzels.

Laughing my ass off. Ahhhhh what would the world be without the Simpsons

and favourite character ????

The fat guy from the "Androids Dungeon and Baseball Card Shop".

When introduced to his beautiful, future, "arranged wedding", wife (the religious cult episode):

"So......do you enjoy comic books ???"

That comic shop guy is the perfectly formed stereotype. Every comic book shop guy I have ever met looks, sounds and acts like the Simpsons character - uncanny.

He also reminds me of that rock music enthusiast Glen A Baker, the similarities are truly spooooooky.

Anything involving Chief Wiggum is usually hilarious. I loved the recent episode, for example, when he was trying to draw the rat out of the mall with a piece of cheese under an anvil. It goes something like:

WIGGUM: (Immediately after setting trap) Hmmm...that cheese looks pretty good. Do you think I could get it?

BLACK COP: I don't know, chief. It would be a million to one.

WIGGUM: I like those odds.

Wiggum attempts to take the cheese, is duly crushed by the anvil, and says:

"My mistake was going for the cheese".

I started laughing as soon as he eyed that cheese, because you just knew what was going to happen..

It's good to see so many Simpsons fans here.

ok...this is definately my FAV moment:

Homer and Marge are in bed, Marge is annoyed at Homer and he's trying to win her back...

HOMER: Am i turning you on?

MARGE: No

HOMER: (in a seductive voice) What if i talk like this?

MARGE: No

HOMER: What if i unbutton my shirt like this?

MARGE: No Homer, go to sleep.

HOMER (still persisting): What if i sing you a song....
I bought my wife a chicken,
it had no bone...
(at this point, he is off in his own fantasy)
hmm....chickennnn...(salivating)

hehehehe...man i luv the simpsons!!!!

ROOS ROCK THE WORLD.

BSA you wound me. To call us comic shop guys like the fat bloke in the Androids dungeon is an insult to we real comic shop blokes of this (alternate) world. Or in the immortal words of Duckman "What the HELL are you looking at!!! :p

ps, i DID own a comic shop but unfortunatly it is no more, i still count myself as a fanboy though

best simpsons? too many to count, but the treehouse of horror with the retelling of the Poe classic 'the Raven' with Homer and James Earl Jones as joint narration is a fave.

Simpson....Simpson...... French is it?? (Monty Python)

Shinboners that's probably my fav ep too.

Roo chick I don't think i've seen that episode but I was lauhing just reading it.

Dan24 Great thread. We need to break up the site occasionally like this.

Anything with Ralph Wiggum is hilarious!!!!

I cant remember what the episode was about but lisa's class was digging for something.
Ralph is digging with his trowel and the end of it falls off.
He picks it up and shouts "i found something" Mrs Krappapple runs over all excited and then says dissapointed "Ralph its just the end of your trowel" then Ralph says "Yeah, and i found it".....

He's so stupid! Oh and the other classic.

Ralph: Mrs Krapapple my worm fell in my mouth and i ate it can i have another one.

My favourite Simpson moment was when i was at a Kanga V Collingwood game this year and a magpie supporter was giving Adam Simpson a spray as he was playing on Nathan Buckley and she told him that he was useless. A little bit later when Simpson was getting the better of Buckley (and that was the game that stopped the Magpie run of eight wins in a row) she yelled out to Simpson "yeah simpson wheres your bloddy donkey did you leave it home and another lady from the Kangas yelled back he didnt need to bring his donkey today he is already playing on one. The Collingwood lady came over and punched her on the back when the game was over as the Kangas beat the pants off them. Now I know it is a different Simpson and you would have to know the story about Simpson and his donkey to understand and see the humor in this one

Yeah I agree, just about any lines that Chief Wiggum says are hilarious!!

Caller: Is that the police??

Wiggum: No you have the wrong number

Caller: Wrong number, isn't this 911

Wiggum: Ah Oh no this is 91.........2!!!

Too many good episodes to remember but here goes.

Fav episode - Mount Splashmore. Luv the croon along with crusty song.
I want to go to mt. splashmore
take me, take me, take me, take me now.
NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!
Take me to mt. splashmore now!

Also. best line about the fat guy who runs the comic store.

"A fat, sarcastic Star Trek fan. You must be a real hit with the ladies."

I'm sorry to bring this topic up again, but I just stumbled across it tonight and had to chip in.
Does anyone remember the episode where Homer sent a letter to Burns, calling him a tightarse (or words to that effect) for not giving Bart a reward for saving his life, then realising that Burns did in fact send one. To retrieve the letter he went to the post office and;

Homer: Hello, my name is Mr Burns, I believe you have a letter for me.

Post office worker: yes we do, now if I could just get your first name Mr Burns.

Homer: uuuuummmmm, I doooon't knoooow.

I don't know if the rest of you found it funny, but I just crack up when ever I recall it.

A selection of great lines:

Apu: "Young man. Your gargantuan slurpee is making a mockery of our self-service policy..."

Burns: "fly my pretties fly"... (thud, thud, thud as the dogs with wings hit the ground below and then Burns to Waylon S: ... "continue the experiments".

Burns: "Ah the sixties. I remember the sixties. A hippie try to doorknock my home. I released the hounds. That wasn't very groooovvvyy was it?"

Anything uttered by Mrs K, Principle Skinner, Chief & Ralph Wiggum, Mayor Quimby, Crusty, Apu, Martin, Flanders, Sideshow Bob (esp with brother) and Smithers is almost always classic material. Those little moments involving the comic store guy, the dorky scientist ("wha-hey!"), the cosby-style ("ah heh-heh") Doctor - are just extra special treats...

However, haven't seen an episode in ages and would almost go so far as to say I actually prefer Futurama which is seriously hilarious.

Dutch.

Oh Dutch its ok you'll get over it everyone does it. I liked South Park better than the Simpson whe that show came out and the same with Futurama but in the end you realise nothing compares to the Simpsons.

Another Classic.

Bart and Lisa have been taken away by the Childrens Social Services to the Flanders place and Bart convinces Ned to sit down and watch some cartoons.
Rod and Tod after the show sit on the couch mortified and Tod says "Dad whats the red stuff coming out of cats stomach" then Rod adds "Dad should i stab Tod with the knife just like the Mouse did"
biggrin.gif
Classic classic Simpsons.

Sorry Dutchman, but they were monkeys in the style of 'Wizard of Oz'.

I always liked the Burns reflection from the early twenties with the young worker standing up to him and saying how the workers would one day rise up and challenge the poor work place conditions and poor wages being paid, bring in unions then get greedy and corrupt and start their own downfall. Burns reply to smithers
"ahh yes smithers, if only we had listened to that young boy, instead of bricking him up in the wall".
Also the undying love Homer has for Marge.
"Id kill for you Marge, PLEASE LET ME KILL FOR YOU". Just like the love we have for our teams
biggrin.gif

I agree. I'm actually hooked on a new show called the Family Guy, on channel 7 just before the delayed telecast of Friday night footy games in Melbourne (I don't know if and when it's been shown outside Melbourne). But I know I'll get over it just like South Park, (which I must admit still produces the occassional quality one liner), and return to the Simpsons. I find myself watching re-runs, thinking that since I've watched it before it won't be that good, yet there I am laughing even harder the second time around.

Time for my contri-
Homer is trying to sneak out (to go to a secret stonecutters?? meeting I think),
and when Marge confronts him and asks
"You're not going to the that cult's meeting are you Homer?"

Homer replies with
"Look, I'm not going to lie to you Marge,"
looking like he's just about to give her an explanation, and then just casualy walks out of the room and drives off.

Homer is my hero!!!

PS I don't know whether having a cartoon character as a hero is healthy, but I don't care.

What a role model!!!

I find it a funny moment when Mr Burns is after his childhood teddy bear, "Bobo"

He takes over the TV and is on a show with Smithers.

Mr Burns walks in the door (on the TV show), and says : "Smithers I'm home"

CANNED LAUGHTER.

Smithers : "What, allredy ?"

MORE CANNED LAUGHTER

Mr Burns : "yes"

EVEN MORE CANNED LAUGHTER

I just crackup wen I see this. The use of the canned laughter on something that is not even funny, actually MAKES it funny.
