Im looking to take my first homeloan. I know to look for things such as low interest rates, but any advice for things in particular to look out for to get the best value for money?

Fees
Access (redraw etc) including fees & minimums
Can you pay weekly/fortnightly? Can you pay via payroll deduction or only by direct-debit (you'll need a bank account with a FREE direct debit facility eg ANZ otherwise you're being charged to deposit to homeloan)
Portability or early payout fees?

Speak to a broker or 2 (not a fly-by-night one!)

Also ask about there customer programs. I am with Westpac, and if you earn over $65,000 per year, plus have a mortgage over a certain amount(can't remember the exact figure), i get a .6% interest rate reduction on my mortgage, .25% reduction on my BT Margin Loan, plus no fees on any loans, savings acounts etc. They all add up to a nice saving.
