Carlton will take the best KPP which is Gumbleton & look to move Kennedy to CHB, because Gumbleton is a better CHF/KPP then Kennedy. Carton would Consider Reid as THEY would have expected him & to go earlier & they would have cleaned out their mature age versitile talls before the draft.
They also wouldn't want him to fall to the Bombers who would hope he falls to them as Carlton will hope Pettard falls to them.
O'Brien will be considered as a rookie.

There is no way in hell that Kennedy will be moved to the backline. He has what it takes to be a star at CHF. He was recruited to play there, and thats where he will play for the next 10+ years. It would not even enter the coaching staffs mind to move him into the backline. Not even for a second. We recruit players to play in a particular position, so why would we risk everything and go against that? We wouldn't. We tried it with Livingston, it failed miserably, and we will most definitely have learned from it. Gumbleton is extremely similar to Kennedy, and we will not take him under any circumstances. That is a guarrantee. Fisher, Waite, Fevola and Kennedy are more than adequate tall forwards. Any more and it will be too top heavy.

Also, you are kidding yourself if you think O'Brien will drop through to the Rookie Draft. He would be unbelievably unlucky not to go top 20. Of that I am certain. Just a question, have you actually seen these boys play? I'm afraid you are WAY off the mark with Carlton's predictions.

As an Eagles suppoerter (and because I can't get onto "Footydraft" at the moment) I thought that I would ask what sort of player is this McKenzie ?

Thats the most quality in a draft i have ever seen. the player talent/depth goes from pick 1 to pick 25, with anyone from pick 6-30 eligable to be top 10's in their own right.
Jetta low- talking to people, his rating has dropepd immensly since last year. They feel he's a bit patchy and doesn't do enough with it.
Leigh Adams is a little champion- he'll go from pick 20-35 without hesitation. if he was 185cm instead of 176, he'd be a top 10 easy.
- Shaun Grigg- No matter what this kid does- A.I.S, Vic Country U15's to 18's, all aus 3 times, people still are ummy and ary. SUper player, yet is one that you'll think he's had an ok game, nothing spesh- but the stats say he's had it 25 times at 3 qtr time. Maybe not enough impact on the ball? hits targets but no flair/ game breaking qualities. I reckon he's a pretty good package and developed nicely into a quality midfielder in 12 months.

The carnival big movers and shakers-
Daniel Connors: Came from the clouds, AA and very godo rebounding half back. Further, i think he's a what you see is what you get, with a heap of potential thrown in.
Matthew Leuenberger- Went from a top 20 prospect to a top 15 to a legitimate top 10 prospect. Some may think i have overrated him. i'm telling you bar injury, that top 8 is all but locked in.
Tom Hurley- Like Adams, maybe fractionally taller. Gets more of the pill, and has an exceptional turn of speed. he is a genuine midfielder of the draft, probably the best midfield prospect IMO.
Kurt Tippet- Question: WHo was this kid pre-carnival? Garry Lyon picked it, and maybe some good talent spotters, but many over looked him as another 200cm name in the record. Had a super carnival and will get better- heaps of potential.

Sorry but i doubt jetta will go at 22. He will most likely go top 10. How happy would you be if you got Jetta at 22 thought?

Why doesnt Nathan Djurreka(?) get drafted? could he be an Aaron Davey-type pick-up? Haven't seen him play but write-ups sound tempting, esp. to my kangas who lack roving bite up forward. PS Leigh Harding is an embarrassment.

.
Shawn Colbung going at pick 11 is a joke will be lucky to be drafted and Clayton Collard going higher than Leroy Jetta is not what I would be expecting.

Maybe swap these players around and it will be around right, Moss is about in the right position but is a better player than just about all on that list (taking out jetta), will be the bargain of the draft is close on as good as Marc Murphy at the same stage last year and will be taken at around 20-30. Dont see too much that seperates Tom Hurley and Moss so should be around same area if not Hurley should be lower as he uses the ball not as good as Moss and does not carry it as much either.

Hurley-25-30 (may be worth more when looked back on)
Jetta-1-12
Moss-20-30 (will be a bargain)
Collard-12-25
Colbung-40-rookie (lacks pace and height)

Just my opinion though

Reiwoldt and Everitt are tough ones but they have height and athleticism and those sort of players usually go a touch higher than they might. Everitt had a very solid carnival while reiwoldt was only average IMO. I find Petterd tough to judge. Proud has got genuine AFL class about him. I dont see that so much in Petterd. I am also a little wary about him being in Div 2 yet I have got a few Tasmanians and Proud. You may be right about Petterd but dont be surprised if my position is fairly close or he even slips a little further. There are a glut of TAC midfielders who can do their draft chances a lot of harm or hurt over the next couple of months. Their performance and rating may well affect how Petterd is viewed and rated. This sort of exercise still has large elements of a lottery at this stage. Hell it is a lottery on the day!

jetta is no good... but will go early because of big wraps... lacks disposal skills and never uses his team mates, thinks hes his own team

finishing in current order, with no selections traded (which won't happen) :

Carl #1 S. Gumbleton, #17 C. Collard, #19 T. Hislop
Ess #2 B. Gibbs, #18 A. Everitt, #20 J. Allan
Haw #3 L. Hansen, #21 J. Sheringham
Kang #4M. Thorp, #22 S. Grigg
Port #5 J. Sellar, #23 C. Schmidt
Bris #6 J. Selwood, #24 K. Tippett
Rich #7M. Leuenberger, #25 T. Boak
Geel #8 A. Proud, #26 L. Adams
Freo #9 C. Benjamin, #27 D. Gourdis
Syd #10 L. Jetta, #28 T. Boak
WB #11 T. Collier, #29 J. Morton
Coll #12 B. Reid, #30 R. Tarrant
Melb #13 D. Connors, #31 R. Prismall
St.K #14 J. Riewoldt, #32 S. Hampson
WCE #15 B. O’Brien, #33 E. MacKenzie
Adel #16 T. Hurley, #34 might go a mature age SANFL player here ?

Carlton to go for Gumbleton at no.1 despite the drafting of Kennedy last year, grab Collard with glee via their priority pick, and resist drafting a so-so ruckman with their 2nd round selection, preferring to shore up the midfield.

Selwood to join one of his bro's at Brisbane, allowing them to gamble on Tippett in the 2nd round - a further possible selection for Aker could see them grab Urqhart or Pettard also ...

Will Port take Sellar if he's available ? Their big-man dept. is already nearly full

Sydney to grab Jetta as a prospective replacement for Williams.

Bulldogs and Pies to 'go tall'..

Bombers grab two versatile talls to compliment the addition of midfielder Gibbs

Geelong grab Adams in hope that he'll be the next Steven Baker.

One would hope that there's no way Collingwood would pass up Jack Riewoldt for Ben Reid, and I'd very much doubt that our first two picks would be talls - We still need help in the midfield.

I don't think we'd need to draft Robbie Tarrant that high, but if we were planning to, we'd probably take someone like Hislop, O'Brien or Petterd in the first round.

Why would we want to pick up a tagger with our second pick. A waste of a pick if you ask me. This draft is meant to be filled with alot of talent yet where aiming for a little tagger.

Don't understand either. We already have Ling and Rooke capable of tagging.

Lingsface, I like your rating of Selwood & Connors. I think they are severely underrated.

I'd have Collard ahead of Morton, although Morton will be a good pick up.

Nice work.

Lingsface and Sinepari,
This is not a criticism of your judgement but a genuine question why do you rate Connors so high. As you can see from my list I cant fit him in my two rounds and I am really interested in your views.
Lingsface I am pretty shocked you cant fit Everitt in your list and have you seen additional footage of the QLD boys beside nat champs and tac cup games because you have rated them real high?
