One of my grandmothers was a horrible cook. Her mother lived with my grandparents for about 50 years so my great grandmother always did the cooking. That's the Czech side of my family. My great grandma taught my mum how to cook those ethnic dishes.

I was boiling eggs for breakfast one morning, left for work and forgot all about them. Hole in the pan, and the house stunk when I got home.

Wow. Having eaten a lot of central American food over the past 20 years, she must have really not put any seasoning in it at all for it to be bland. It is hard to have any bland central American food.
