I gave up trying to understand how this show works last year. I think Piper and whatever the other one's name is are the last to cook tomorrow. Then the bottom two teams compete in a sword fight or something. Oops... the Peruvians also have to cook. Peru has the best food in the world, I hear.

Tonight was episode 41. :eek: This show is never going to end, I fear.

The table was happier tonight because Ibby & Romel weren't on it shit stirring everyone.

The food looked good tonight, these two can win the whole thing if they can keep that standard up. With any luck I'll make it to the GF on 6 years time...

Until this morning I knew nothing about Peter Evans(I was in the US from 2000-2017) except that he was a chef and was on this show. His name came up on 3AW. I did not know that he was a whacko. I no longer trust his smile.

I hope Ibby and Romel don't win. I find them intolerably bitchy and I also really question how a restaurant owner can compete in this. Those dishes looked way too professional last night. Might as well stack me up against anyone posting in this thread. I lose. Andy and Big Lips would be my favourite to win at this stage. The cricketers also have impressed me. Momma and Johnny have been going downhill. The others are there for, well, I guess to draw out this series until Christmas and provide the drama.
 
I agree, but it hit me out of the blue. Apparently he's been criticised for baby diets or something too. Haven't had time to read up. I only heard about it because it was brought up on a segment criticising Fiona Patten for posting a pic on Instagram with him.

One of my former students, Luke Mangan, is a celebrity chef I learned one day when I saw him on TV in the states. I just hope his cooking skills are better than his scholarly pursuits were in Year 8 back in about 1981. :D

This is what's wrong with celebrity culture in general. Being famous doesn't make you an expert in every field. Pete has some whacky notions about certain things and that's his prerogative. Fiona Patten was criticized because she, like you, didn't know Pete was an anti-vaxxer for example, or his paleo obsessions, or him saying mothers should give their babies camels milk.
 
I'm sorry but there are no redeeming qualities about any of them. Would love no one to win but unfortunately that's not going to happen. All smarmy self entitled w***ers (doesn't mean I wouldn't eat their dishes)

You asked if there was proof. The link provides implied support ie holding of an anti-vaccination position.

I said a few pages back that Veronica & Piper would be the team eliminated this round because they are seriously bad cooks. Interestingly, Josh & Austin accused Victor & G of strategic voting yet it was their own strategic voting that was the difference between them and the beauty queens (cough) getting the higher score. The ad for tonight's show makes it seem like the Peruvians are having a bad night, but what's a bet they do OK. The editing in this show is so predictable.

And the music starts to build underneath....

We record it before watching so we can FF through the ads, and when I hear that music I hit the button straight away.
 
I think that the dramatic music is one of the best parts of this show. If only they'd release a soundtrack...


At this stage, this show has been going on longer than my second marriage. ;)
