Oh dear. We have a new low score. 42 to Emma & Andrew of W.A.

Pete scored 5,2,and 4
Manu scored 7,3,and 4

The others scored 17/50 with a 1 from Thomas & Carla and a 3 from Peter & Gary.

What peed me off was the smile that broke out on Carla's face when they announced their score. :thumbsd:

While Emma and Andrew served up an absolute shocker, at least they acknowledged where they went wrong and appear to be taking the criticism on the chin and not turning vindictive and petulant like Thomas and Carla

TBF 1 was probably what you'd expect if you serve up seawater. Can't see anyone getting a lower score than 42 but we'll see!

They were lucky to get 42....I would have walked out it was that bad! I would have given it a 0, and to be honest they are shocking "cooks"

Really? Where did you purchase the TV that allows you to actively taste the meals cooked on MKR? Wouldn't mind one myself! :p

It's ok Thomas and Carla will be out 1st go in kitchen HQ, considering timing is an issue for them, they won't have 2plus hrs to serve their main in there.

Whilst dissapointed my fellow West Aussies are gone, they really didn't deserve a good score. I could get a soup like that at my local China Bar cafe in the foodhall, the desert was horrible and i doubt anyone would be impressed if that turned up on your plate at a restaurant, going on the judges comments the scores were probably a fair reflection.

They've bombed out twice now, and really don't deserve to go to the next round.

Can't stand Thomas & Carla (worst contestants- nasty and can't cook to save themselves) but as far as I can tell they did not make Emma and Andrew cook like drunk door mice?

As expected, Andrew and Emma are eliminated.

While Emma and Andrew are eliminated, they can leave with integrity, something Thomas and Carla will never have in this competition

The Kiwi's won the elimination round and their reward is their safe for the next round. That doesn't sit overly well for me - surely Nic and Rocco/Angela and Justine are more worthy of being safe as they were best in the main rounds and not the best of the worst.

Had fun watching this but I think I'll bow out now.

I really dig the instant restaurant formula but they took about a month to boot one team so I'm worried as to how long they'll take to finish this seeing as they've switched to Masterchef 2.0 now.

Loved the first series when it was just elimination cook-offs in the HQ.

Last year it finished mid-April, and with The Amazing Race Australia and Australia's Got Talent looking set to go post-Easter I reckon it will only run until Easter, particularly if it stays running 4 nights a week.

.

Same here.

Finding myself watching it less and less- being on every night is just way too much imo. At best I'll tune in 10 mins before the end just to get a quick description of each meal/how it was and the scores.

A couple of things

Only about 3 of the remaining 11 contestants are interesting. And I use the word interesting loosely.

The preview for the next round. Going to exotic locations to prepare seafood or whatever... what an epic misstep by the producers. The Masterchef infection as others have mentioned. I just want to see the people I like cook/interact under pressure.

Peter snapping under pressure last night (after Gary spilt water into their dessert ramikans) is exactly what I want. Going to China to have a fish cutting contest... surprisingly, is not.

I'll keep watching but I hope they keep the location stuff to a minimum. Focus on the characters and the kitchen.

The 'It's a competition, let's treat it as if it's tribal warfare' angle has really detracted from the show IMO.
This is definitely part of the reason why the second round of instant restaurants was far less enjoyable. It's unpleasant to watch such pettiness.

Also, when Carla whines about others, she gets a nasally inflexion which makes her double annoying.

Funny thing is Emma and Andrews was so bad they could have voted fairly and they still would have finished last by 5 votes

These :thumbsu: sum up my thoughts on MKR.

Way too long to eliminate the first couple and moving from the "kitchen" of the contestants to a stainless steel sterile room doesnt do it for me.

The eighteen total shows that it took (four and a half weeks or a month) to eliminate the first couple really was major over kill. Perhaps it wouldn't have been nearly so bad had they not done the second round as they did it but it killed it for me.

Would have rather they had to have cooked for the winning teams in the first round. Playing up the cut throat angle with such boring couples really took it out out of me. The editing to make one team per round (the Adelaide twit in the first round, the gay guys from QLD in the second and Thomas and Carla in the cut throat round) to play the role of the bad guy (heel) really turned it into nothing but a poorly booked spin on professional wrestling for mine. I've seen enough poorly booked bad guys to last me a life time let alone seeing it on a cooking show.

There is no "moty" in existence to do the quoted poster justice.
Unless, there is a moty depicting hanging from a noose of its own stupid but bravely naive erstwhile words.

Thomas and Carla should be kicked out because they don't listen.

After every meal, Pete and Manu's reaction is "Stop trying to re-invent the wheel, stick with classic flavour combinations". Yet they tried that blueberry chicken thing.

Anyone else find that Gary the Doctor just moves sooooo slooowwwwly? It looks like he is at .67x speed. At least Peter is showing a sense of urgency now.

Sam was cracking under minimal pressure, "the white things on my toast". I can't wait 'til they get to the pressure test or whatever equivalent they steal from MasterChef. She will not handle it well.

Thought last night's episode was enjoyable but I want them to start eliminating people, soon.
