It's fairly obvious Thomas & Carla were picked on entertainment value, because that is three attempts and 3 fails, they seriously cannot cook, or they jagged a few good meals in the interview process.

The old bird and the daughter in law are not much better in cooking either, not sure what value they add to ratings though.

I think it will be a battle of the females Vic v SA to decide the winner.

The Kiwi's won the elimination round and their reward is their safe for the next round. That doesn't sit overly well for me - surely Nic and Rocco/Angela and Justine are more worthy of being safe as they were best in the main rounds and not the best of the worst.

This! I didn't understand that at all. If Nick and Rocco had more of a shocker and were put up for elimination it would have been hilarious.

I havent watched this but caught bits of last nights. Managed to see the worst looking dish i have seen in my life with the mexican schnitzel/parma concoction. I doubt that a dog would of eaten it if it was served up as leftovers.

Unfortunately missed last night due to Foxtel lines being down from the bad weather :thumbsd:

Ok ep i suppose. Warming to Peter but Gary...if he grins like an idiot again..ggrr. Certainly I think the judges with their comments might have or should have shaken those boys to the core. The judges said their meals are old favorites cooked well BUT they really needed to jazz it up for this competition if they were to proceed any further than middle of the pack

Ended up with Mutton dressed up as Lamb and the supposed daughter in law who really wants to bonk Nic & Rocco are going up against I can't cook Carla and don't turn your back on me Thomas in a 3 course shoot out to decide who is eliminated.

I don't know but anyone who has to eat the results.....really deserves the title "Iron Chef".

Yeah I saw that as well- a bright green vomiting looking sauce and they spread it all over the schnitzel.

They are a bunch of nuff nuffs on this show..

Sam and Jillian are the surprise 2nd elimination - their cooking must have been really bad if they couldn't beat Thomas and Carla.

Also is it just me or is there a fair bit of advertising for woman's sanity products during the MKR ads - not sure if I want to know about daggies and light bladder leakage during a cooking show...

Is it that much of a surprise?

I thought they were fairly average cooks right from the beginning. Factor in Sam's propensity to freak out () under pressure, they were never going far.
I'm not overly surprised but I thought surely they could outcook Thomas and Carla.

I'm just suprised me how much Channel 9 have slipped. From being the dominant force in ratings to playing a bad game of catch up or even worse, failing to even catch up.

With the announcement that MKR will now go to 5 nights a week from this Sunday, this latest episode will be all profit for 7 as the fixed costs have been covered by the week day episodes.

When Masterchef blew everything out of the ratings water a few years ago Channel 7 responded with MKR. Smartly they did not go head to head with MC but went early and have established their spot in the broadcast calendar.

10 responded to 7's musical fair of AGT & X Factor with YTT. We are yet to see Channel 9's response THE VOICE.

Aagh, the old days have long gone for Channel 9. They would have bought off Peter and Manu with promises of an even bigger and better show and just left them to stew. Now days they cant even do that.

The success of MKR just proves Channel 9 needs something similiar and at this moment the cupboard is bare. If you have a great idea for a TV cooking show now would be the time to pitch it to a certain hungry network.

I don't think it's within the best interest of Channel 9 to oversaturate the Competitive Cooking market with one of their own but rather to put out more seasons of the renovation show (The Block) and to get Big Brother out ASAP. On top of that I think they got the Olympics as well.

Did you see how The Block ended last season? It wasn't the best thing for that franchise at all.

I'd like to see Nine go in a completely different direction. Put out some dosh for something completely different. Sadly Seven is even beating them to that punch with Revenge and Once Upon a Time (yet to air but seems promising).

Perhaps Nine can accomplish what Ten and OneHD have failed to do successfully and become the predominant free to air sports channel. You're spot on with the Olympics. How about Nine bought the rights to show NBA, MLB, etc. Perhaps even buy the rights to the NBL out from under OneHD. There is a viable market for that.

I caught this tonight.

Simply cannot believe Thomas and Carla measured out tomato paste, had food and rubbish slopped around everywhere and put a lid on the mince in order to reduce it. These are the fundamentals of cooking that you learn as a kid.

My Big Brother's Kitchen Dancing with the Block on Ice?

Can't help but think that the clock is ticking for that tiny mouthed man.

Funnily my 13 year old son had cooked dinner for the family last night - he did spag bol.

As soon as Thomas mentioned reducing and put the lid on he turned to me and said "thats just going to make it worse". I laughed.

Correction- he put a baking tray on the mince. :D

Fecking hilarious, him doing an "L" sign on his forehead couldnt have summed him up better.

Btw, just a question why didnt the guys who made the dessert get put up for elimination? I thought the biggest "no no" was not fullfilling the brief. Dessert = not lunch?!?!

It was all about who made the most $. Pure and simple. Judges comments meant naught.

Geez Thomas is an A grade azz clown. Shit bloke, shitter cook.
