Two days ago, I think I over did it in the gym and I think I've tweaked a muscle in my neck. Unfortunately, I've got a test thingy today at Uni and I can't even look at my notes for more that five minutes without it hurting. How the hell am I going to do this test?
To top it all off, the next door neighbour is mowing his ****ing lawn and I'm on the verge of going over there and throwing a couple of haymakers.
What should I do?

ps. Luckily the keyboard is just at the right height so as to not hurt my neck too much.:D

Well ... If you were Bomberboy .. you would probably get an axe out ......... :D :D :D (to deal with the lawnmower guy)

Try having a bath ... always good for sore/pulled muscles.

Also put some of that deep heat stuff on. It will make your muscle feel better, and it will put everyone else in the UNI off their tests aswell, so you beat them all.
:D

Sometimes a "hot and cold" treatment is good if the muscle you tweaked is inflamed (which it probably is if it is still sore after two weeks). I use this if I hurt my back muscles at cricket. Just get a hot-water bottle and an ice-pack and alternate for a few hours - usually is done when you first do the injury, but might be worth a shot....

The ice calms the inflamation and the heat keeps the bones, muscles, ligaments moving so you don't risk doing further damage while it heals.

I use Voltaren Gel for inflammation when I pull a muscle, it is really good but you can only get it from the chemists, it isn't cheap but I suggest you always have some on hand if you are going to keep up with the gym.

Yeah, deep heat and a bath will probably work. I have some sort of neck problem, when it flares up my neck gets sore, and leans to one side, I can't move it up verticly because it cains. Called wry neck I think, a nerve gets stuck in the wrong position and is squashed against the bone. Not good:(

Hope you get/got it worked out

Thanks EKA, it's starting to improve. I haven't been able to take a bath..........I tried getting in the laundry sink, but at 189 cms and 90 kilos all the water flooded out. :)
Your neck problem sounds awful...........almost like Rod Carters old problem.

Like dockerbabe, I also have neck and back pain almost every day. I don't really do anything about it either, but like most people have suggested, relax, use a gel like Dencor Rub or something and maybe get a good looking girl to give you a nice soothing massage. Good luck!!
