Would love Ziebell at freo if the eagles take rich, and hopefully WC pass up on Debeor but can't see it happening in the second round, hopefully melbourne offer pick 17 for warnock, or even 19

yarran over sidebottom
hole over toilet
carlton over richmond
no way

No one seems to like yarran, i think hes pretty skillful at ground and takes a decent overhead mark. reads the play well. Then again richmond did get tambling and Oakley Nicholls early so i can see the reservations.

if richmond took sidebottom at 8 i think the order would go
Pick 8 - Ric - Sidebottom
Pick 9 - NM - Blease
Pick 10 - Ade - Johnston
Pick 11 - Coll - Robinson
Pick 12 - Syd - Hill
Pick 13 - St's - Yarran

yarran over sidebottom

Have you seen Yarran play?

Remember, Yarran has been kicking goals and playing against MEN not boys.

This is a major problem when comparing players sometimes.

Yarren has spent most of the year playing against men and was injured mid season. He also played a major role in helping the swans into the finals, once again, against MEN!

If Yarran was playing in the TAC, he would have seriously dominated.

Yeah i agree. Everyone rates him very highly, but i can see him slidding. We still dont no what his best position is. and i no essendon could go for a FB. But in the end i thought Ryder and Nat in the same team could be very scary for an opposition

Once again a "phantom draft" that seems to have the Eagles taking nothing but midfielders. (Is Pearce a midfielder ?) Please explain why this would happen ? While we may need as many as two midfielders (if Kerr goes, and then I would expect another first round pick as part of the trade, at least !) The Eagles also have deficiencies in other positions (small forward being one) so an "all midfielder" draft does not addres the Eagles requirements.

Pearce is currently a halfback and a very good one at that.

I've also seen many phantom drafts with NickNat as your first selection.

As for small forwards, the best going around is Yarran and pick 2 is paying slightly over the odds for that selection.

LeCras is your small forward, surely if he gets on the field he is good enough.

Actually i did consider that but as this is a pre-trade week draft, it is hard to guess what might happen. I was considering at Pick 20 someone like Ryan Shoenmaker, who i rate very highly nearly equal with Johnston. I think Yarran would be a perfect match but i feel he will be drafted between your first and second pick

I agree i rate Pearce as a HB very highly as it says in my Draft, so not all Mids? also i agree with Tarquin about LeCras.

Also with the pick ull get for seaby maybe ull get Roughead (JORDON) or even picks for kerr you might go for a player like Yarren

I'd rather take the safer option with Hurley thanks. Ryder can play CHB anyway so it is not that big a deal. Hurley at FB, Ryder at CHB is what I'd like if Hurley is available. Hiwever that is a moot point..please explain how Tom Swift if available (and he won't- he'll be taken in the first round) was overlooked for our pick 23.

Ugh well if you have a look i had Tom Swift at 17 going to melbourne, so i think he will already be taken

My honest mistake. But still NickNat is a glaring error. Look he may be awesome but I am not sure Essendon are in a position to take risks with athletes. If you picked someone like Ziebell or Sidebottom I could understand a bit- plus the fact is we have enough ruckmen on our list

I like it.. except Yarren isnt there.
He is very underrated on bigfooty.

IMO I think Adelaide will take Trengove ahead of Johnston if he is available.

Good work :thumbsu:

If anything Yarran is overrated. He does nothing for most of the game. I honestly HATE watching him as he goes MIA when he should be doing something!

Interesting to see Trengove slip out of the first round altogether in this one.

A bit different to many others on this board.

Thanks for the effort.

Yeah it was tough, i got to geelong and choose, Mckernan because he is more versitle, and i dont no if Hawkins will play the role he would next year. And Mckernan could play back or ruck.
Pick 16 - Hawks, needed a defender
Pick 17 - Melb would go for Swift as they got watts with one
pick 18 -I think WC will go for a pearce
so it left pick 19 again with melbourne who get trengove

Also he was pick 19 so still in the top 20

I agree essendon do have Hille and bellchambers....laycock, but Nat is not just a ruckman,he could play the richo wing role, or be a KPP

I want pure footballers, not athletes end of story. The only 'athlete' I would be tempted to draft with a late pick would be Steven Gaertner. I do not want Naituai under any circumstances.
