My Phantom Draft

Absolutely 0 chance we take Naughton, home grown talent or not. We've got a great record of retaining interstate players and in the last 2 national drafts we've taken 2 WA boys out of 8, one of which being a father son, so it's not as if we have form prioritising WA guys ahead of our list needs. Would've taken SPP over Venables last year if that was the case. Not to mention we have an AA backman in Mcgovern and 22 year old Barrass who looks looks like possible AA level talent in a few years. As depth we have Mackenzie who was AA squad a couple of years ago and has found form again and Schofield who is more than servicable depth and would be best 22 at plenty of clubs.

Defenders are at the very bottom of our list of needs and we sacrificed our first round pick next year to improve our chances of landing good mids this year to make sure we can improve the midfield ASAP before Kennedy and Naitanui retire, which means our first round pick has to be a mid this year.

Fair enough just a thought. Gov is a swingman. Would be good up fwd. To help Kennedy. Plus Naughton is ready to go.

Why do the Eagles pick a CHB with McGovern and Barrass set?

Especially when they desperatly need big bodied mids like Hunter Clark.

The Eagles already said no defenders needed tall or otherwise.

Yeah mate. We wouldn't take Hayes at 15. As has already been mentioned, we have ruckman. We have Hippy and Walker with Ballenden coming in. We aren't going to be playing 3 players around 200cm in the same team. Plus we have another tall forward coming in next year in Tzozer
