After reading the article in the age i have come to the conclusion that he will be a the hawks next year.

My reasoning is that i remembered hearing dermie of SEN talk about contingencies in place in terms of playing someone key forward next year when thompson left. Initially i thought they would recruit a kid (eg roughead) and play him out of the goal square. Then i remembered everett talking that he would like to play as a key forward in the next couple of years. In my opinion he would be a sensational full forward, he has size, pace and a great kick. Therefore they would recruit knobel to be the number one ruckman and over pre-season get everett to bulk up (ala richo last year) and play him as the key fwd target they need and he could become. By all accounts richmond have no salary cap room, and i suspect they'll take bowden, so i feel very confident knobel has quit the saints to become a hawk!!!!

Do people agree with my assessment???

I hope not! What a waste that would be, Hawthorn already has a ruckman of his type in Robbie Campbell, the bash and crash type ruckman do nothing for me, I would rather the Hawks go for someone like Cain Ackland ahead of Trent Knobel, Ackland is at least 2 years younger and has more development left in him! I also hope the Hawks draft Monfries at pick 7 instead of a ruckman, maybe go for Ivan Maric with pick 26.
Just a thought..

Richmond have no room in their salary cap? Are you mental?
The only problem Richmond have with the salary cap is that they will have so many kids, they need to keep Richo on the main list so they can reach the minimum on 92.5% TPP.

I think Knobel will be heading to Richmond, Bowden has signed on for 2 more years with the Dogs so this would suggest that Richmond told him they wouldn't be using their 1st pick in the PSD on him.

My prediction:

1. Richmond - T.Nobel (StK)
2. Hawthorn - L.Mullins (Coll)
3. Bulldogs - PASS
4. Collingwood - A.McGrath (Bris), if not available: L.Jarrad (Williamstown)
5, 6, 7, 8... who cares.

McGrath if available will be gone either to richmond or us, no chance he would drop 4 spots, unless their are better options then mcgrath, and nobel and mullins aren't!

I'd take Mullins over McGrath!!
Although Mullins is still unproven, he is a in and under midfielder with good/great skills... we have many players that can play a half bank flank as McGrath does!
Just something to ponder..

Bowden is staying with the dogs. i still reckon Knobel is a waste of time. We dont need anymore old 2nd rate ruckman at hawthorn. More interested in Blake though if Richmond dont take him.
